Canberra with over 22 flights departing daily. Trains run from Dubbo—
Sydney return daily and it is a 5 hour drive through wine country to reach
the Sydney CBD

Stage 4 of Hospital Redevelopment underway Stage 4 has commenced and will deliver a Cath Lab, Critical Care floor
and a Cancer Centre. A new Emergency Department is due to open in
March 2020 with the Ambulatory Care and Specialist Medical Centre to
open shortly after. MRI and CT are now both available onsite in the
recently opened Medical Imaging Department.
The Dialysis Unit is now located on the same level as the Stage 3 34 bed
Surgical Inpatient Unit which was opened in March 2018. 6 state of the art
theatres opened in January 2015 with a 15 bed EDSU, recovery and
CSSD.
With visiting specialists covering a wide range of
Orthopaedics, General, Vascular, Colorectal, Dental and Ophthalmology,
Dubbo Health Service is an excellent environment to gain sub speciality
surgical exposure. Conducting over 1300 births per year in our brand new
Maternity Suite, meeting your goals and expectations for GP Training will
be a breeze.

Emergency medicine is an extremely popular term at Dubbo and is
guaranteed to provide hands on and procedural exposure in a fast
paced clinical environment. Many of our past trainees have gone on to
obtain competitive metropolitan training positions in Emergency,
Medicine and Surgery training programs.
Dubbo Health Service maintains a strong partnership with HETI and
offers SRMO’s exposure to Anaesthetics, Emergency and Obstetrics &
Gynaecology career pathways. We are passionate about seeing our
trainees meet their career goals, whether that means further training with
the College for Emergency Medicine, entry into a Specialist Training
Program, or pursuing rural and remote practice as a Rural Generalist.
