*Monday March 3- 1st course verification form distributed to students

* Friday March 7 (revised): 1st Verification Form Turned In To first period teacher

Students will turn in the following items:1. Verification forms with elective requests listed2. Waiver forms for any changes made to core courses.  Waiver form available on our

website. 

* Date to be Determined:  2nd & 3rd Verification Forms Distributed

               Students will receive a 2nd and 3rd course verification forms that list all of their requests (core courses and electives). Students will have an opportunity to make changes to their requests on this form.

* 2nd & 3rd Verification Forms Turned In

Students will turn in their 2nd and 3rd verification forms. This form should include any changes the student would like to make to his/her requests before his/her final schedule is created.   

* June 9  Final Course Change Deadline (no schedule changes after this date)

Beginning in 2013-2014, all students in Grade 9 will select a Career Cluster and Career Pathway. In addition to the 17 Career Clusters, the GA Department of Education has approved Academic Pathways in Advanced Academics, Fine Arts, and World Language.

A student has completed an Advanced Academic Pathway in Mathematics when the criteria described below have been met:

 

* Student graduated, thereby completing 4 required credits in mathematics, AND

* Student’s course history in Mathematics includes at least one AP or one post-secondary enrollment code in 27 that fulfills a core graduation requirement in Mathematics, AND

* Student earned credits in two sequential courses in one world language.

*Advanced Academic Pathway: Science

A student has completed an Advanced Academic Pathway in Science when the criteria described below have been met:

* Student graduated, thereby completing 4 required credits in Science, AND

* Student’s course history in Science includes at least one AP* or one post-secondary enrollment that fulfills a core graduation requirement in Science, AND

* Student earned credits in two sequential courses in one world language.

*A student has completed an Advanced Academic Pathway in Social Studies when the criteria described below have been met:

Journalism PATHWAY: Newspaper Focus

It is important to note that 3 classes are considered the minimum for a Journalism Pathway (state course prefix numbers 23, 50, 70) and that one of those classes must be at level 2 or higher. Students are encouraged to take additional courses in order to be college and career ready.
