“One Man’s Opinion”

Part I I’ve been reading about the W.W. Law Foundation Board’s back andforth about who gets Mr. Law’s collection for posterity. It appearsthat two factions; one led by George Bowen who wants to give thecollection to the Historical Society and the other led by Lemur Pendergraph who wants to give it tothe City of Savannah (I think). Knowing both men and having viewed the collection in storage, Igrudgingly agree with George Bowen. My previous dealings with the “Hysterical” Society, leads meto believe that they are a doggedly, dare I say a fanatical group who are committed to their mission.Their desire to preserve the past surpasses my understanding so I believe they will be fair in their cataloging and presentation of the entire collection.

It’s time to move forward with this project. Eleven years have passed and the longer they wait, thelonger it’s going to take. In addition the county should go ahead, and release the balance of the$500,000 earmarked for the collection to expedite the process, once the decision as to where it willgo is finalized.

Part II Yes, I’m ready for some football. The Falcons lost...Booo, but too soon to worry. Vick and the Eagleslooked like Oregon for the first half of their gane...Yea!, Texas A&M plays Alabama this weekendYea! Savannah State, well Savannah State is getting paid, especially when they play Miami in a

couple of weeks. My team Howard University is 1 an 1 and 1st in the MEAC...Yea! Oh yeah,Savannah State plays Howard on November 9th. Guess who I’m rooting for? It doesn’t get anybetter than this.

Part IIIBy the time you read this the contest may be over, but in case it isn’t, here it is. “Over the years, TheHOT SPOT has been published in Cleveland, OH, Savannah, GA and the Low Country of SouthCarolina. There are Two other cities.
