Eight elementary schools received visits on April 10th & 11th from a race car driver, racecar and the Acura pace car. Prisk Elementary was the lucky CD4 school selected by eventorganizers for this annual Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach Educational Series. Studentsgot to see a real race car and ask questions of driver, Nicolai Elghanyan. I stopped by andgot a group photo with the kindergarten classes. 45th Annual Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

Congratulations to Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of theGrand Prix Association of Long Beach, and his team for staging another terrific event. Thetransition to new title sponsor was absolutely seamless, and the Acura NSX made a prettyimpressive pace car. Unfortunately, car #4 (the one I was rooting for) didn't win Sunday'srace, but I did get to meet LA Chargers head coach, Anthony Lynn. He served as grandmarshal for the race, and he happens to be a big fan of first responders. If you didn't seehis 2019 Super Bowl Commercial on the topic, it's worth a watch (link below).
