The Singapore Army is the largest service of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), responsible for protecting and defending our security interests and the sovereignty of our nation. A force to be reckoned with, our men and women are trained for high combat readiness, capable of conducting a wide spectrum of operations.

In peacetime, we are tasked with conducting operations to further Singapore's national interests and foreign policy. These include joint security operations with the Home Team, counter-terrorism operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster

relief missions, peace support operations and other contingencies that go beyond Singapore’s shores.

There are many pathways towards military service in The Singapore Army, each one leading to a position of authority or rank. You will undergo rigorous military training both at home and overseas. FORMATIONS ON THE BATTLEFIELD

INFANTRYInfantry soldiers are well-trained in combat skills and are pro�cient in operating advanced equipment to defeat the enemy decisively on the battle�eld.

ARMOURArmour provides mobile �repower support during operations for the Army to punch through the enemy’s defence.

COMMANDOSThe Commandos specialise in raids, reconnaissance and enemy interdiction via air, land, and sea.

ARMY INTELLIGENCEReconnaissance vocationalists are tasked with the job of gathering information without being detected.

ARTILLERY Artillery dominates the battle�eld by harnessing the full suite of sensors and precision �re systems in the SAF.

COMBAT ENGINEERSCombat engineers specialise in mobility, counter-mobility and survivability operations to support the troops in missions.

SUPPLYServicemen deployed to the Supply Corps oversee provisions for the SAF. They ensure that SAF missions are supported with the necessary equipment and materials.

MILITARY POLICE The SAF Military Police Command upholds and enforces military law, order and discipline in the SAF during peacetime and war.

SIGNALS Signals vocationalists are tasked with the important role of setting up and maintaining a stable and secure communication system.

GUARDSGuardsmen are pro�cient in heliborne and underslung operations, allowing them to rig cargoes and vehicles onto a hovering helicopter for rapid deployment.

MAINTENANCE ANDENGINEERING SUPPORT Army Engineers are entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the Army’s vehicles, weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles and electronic systems.

ARMY MEDICAL SERVICESMedics in the SAF are responsible for delivering responsive and professional care to soldiers in need of medical attention.

SAF AMMUNITION COMMANDThe SAF Ammunition Command equips the Army, Navy and Air Force with the latest ammunition. They conduct safety and reliability tests, and explore innovative supply chain concepts for ammunition.

TRANSPORTTransport professionals are trained to manoeuvre military and heavy vehicles through all terrains, providing support across a full spectrum of air, land and sea operations.

The SAF Engineering Scholarship is for aspiring military engineers, who are ready to serve the nation and be groomed as leaders with speci�c deep specialisation in engineering. The scholarship equips you with a world-class education and training to spearhead in-depth engineering studies, design and operationalise high-end technological capabilities for the SAF.

As military engineers, you will assume a range of challenging appointments in MINDEF/SAF. In addition, there will be opportunities to be rotated to the Defence Technology Community (e.g. Defence Science and Technology Agency [DSTA] and DSO National Laboratories) to augment the build-up of engineering expertise in the Defence-technology ecosystem.
