DesignRiverside East gives the University a central point of arrival which makes the most of the riverside setting. The building is connected to the Faculty of Health and Social Care, which neighbours RGU:Sport and Aberdeen Business School.

The new facilities located at the east end of the campus complement the University’s existing buildings in terms of their innovative design and style while providing and outstanding educational environment for its students.

The campus will retain its park like ambiance and provide a recreational setting for staff, students and the local community.

SustainabilityAs part of its aim to contribute to environmental sustainability, the University has sunk bore holes for the ground heat pumps. The boreholes, which are 200 metres underground use the latent heat of the earth to heat or cool water to a constant 12 degrees which reduces the requirement for fossil fuels as the initial temperature change in the building is taken care of by the borehole system.

Car sharing is when two or more registered drivers, who reside at different addresses, share the journey to and from the University by car. A car share team can include both staff and students.

Even if you are not a car driver, you can still use the online Car Share search to find someone to share the journey with.
