What are they?House style• Standard grammatical, graphical, and

typographical manner in which an organization communicates through written words or other symbols via all means-from nameplates to its aircraft, ships, or other vehicles. House style covers (but is not limited to) call cards and office stationery, cautionary and directional signs, emails, faxes, and letters, booklets and brochures, financial and other reports, and house publications and manuals.

Motif• A motif is where a certain image

for example a logo is used throughout a business or product in order to allow the audience to associate it with that business or products. This is mostly done for artist as they have a certain logo that represents them and they place this on everything that is from them like posters, digi paks, band equipment, merchandise etc.

Examples of House StyleThe example of house style I have chosen is by Katy Perry all of her products and also her website have the same font used also the light pastel colours of pink and blue are used which helps them all be related also the image used of Katy Perry are the same. Many other artist do this in order to create a branch also so that their audience are able to identify which products belongs to certain artists, this is also do in magazines, newspaper etc.

Examples of MotifsThe example of motif I have chosen is by the band RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS. Not many artists have motifs but it is common that bands have motifs. The band are easily recognised by having their logo on everything as we have examples of posters, Digi paks, and also the logo is used on the drum kit. This allows the band to be easily recognised and also the band is able to be seen as a whole rather than individuals.
