FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Houston Black Restaurant Week Returns Bigger and Better Houston’s Black Culinary celebration is back with more to munch on Houston, TX-- Houston Black Restaurant Week (#HOUBRW) returns for its second year of flavorful festivities, April 17 - 30, 2017. With added features and highlights, the much- anticipated event comes back with a broader spectrum of what Houston’s black restaurants and chefs bring to the culinary table. During HOUBRW, foodies, culinary influencers, out-of-towners and community locals are treated to prix-fixe dining menus for brunch, lunch and dinner at participating restaurants in the Greater Houston area. In conjunction to the restaurant showcase, HOUBRW hosts a series of special events including a culinary showcase and competition, a bartending battle and a three-course dinner-discussion for aspiring franchise owners. Last year, HOUBRW attracted nearly a thousand locals to its inaugural celebration within just one week. The overwhelming response and enthusiasm led HOUBRW organizers to extend this year’s event to two weeks with added restaurants and new competitors along with the exciting addition of a food-truck park and block party to its lineup. Houston Black Restaurant Week seeks to increase the awareness, support and patronization of black restaurants and chefs in the city. Houston is now recognized as one of the leading culinary destinations in the United States; with Blacks making significant contributions to the local food scene. HOUBRW serves as platform for exposure to the variety of well- accomplished Black restaurant owners, executive chefs, and catering companies, who have created a legacy of providing delicious food. A portion of the proceeds from each meal purchased through this year’s HOUBRW is donated to the Blue Triangle Community Center, Commercial Kitchen Renovation a commercial kitchen development to be utilized by budding caterers and the community at-large.
