What is an EP?An Educational Psychologist, or EP forshort, is someone who has been speciallytrained to understand how young peoplebehave and learn.

Who does the EP meet? The EP meets students of all ages.Students who need help with:

❚ their school work

❚ their behaviour

❚ relationshipswith others.

❚ speaking andlistening.

Who else doEPs work with? EPs also work with parents, teachers andother adults. They all work together totry and help you do better at school.

Why am I meeting withan EP? Some adults have asked the EP to helpyou to do better at school.

Where will I meet the EP? The EP may visit you and your family athome, or visit you in school.

What will happen when Imeet the EP? The EP is interested in what youthink is happening at themoment. They may ask anumber of questions, suchas:

❚ how you work best

❚ what you like doingand what you find difficult to do

❚ what would help you do better atschool.

❚ how you would like things to change

They may ask you to do some activitiesto find out more about how you learn.
