HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/

ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?

Page 2: How did you attract (1)

Aspects of my opening that are appealing to my target audience Aspects of the opening that appeal to

target audienceStyle & Look of title credits

White text on black screen. Simple and clear. Follows conventions of a thriller movie.

Mise end scene The arrangement of the toys in the shop and stacked content serves as a realistic form of the location in the film. The audience would be able to relate to the event or a situation if the place is real and recognisable, like the forest and its scenery.

Location The forest/Busy street/Toy shop with antique toys and gifts. Change of scenery makes it more realistic and effective in creating the right atmosphere.

Sub-genre Horror. Includes death of the paranoid girl being haunted by herself in the physical form of her psychological paranoia.

Film name Lunatic. The name of the film bluntly states that the film is about a person who is deeply disturbed psychologically, or the film is to do with a mental illness. Problems with the mind.

Storyline The storyline is clear yet rather detailed in a sense of several events being a flashback which keep coming back to the girl. The audience can clearly see the girl being followed and her running at the end since the paranoia has built up until that point.

Actors The teenage girl is played by a 16 year old girl so it is realistic. She is followed by herself in physical form for the audience to see. Of course the stalker is played by an actor whom is dressed in black clothing so we don't see its identity.

Sound/score The sound starts of pretty monophonic and continues into building up towards the end creating suspense and the atmosphere likewise to any other thrillers, with heartbeats and heavy breathing.

Production & Distribution company

The ident we have created ourselves which represents the films in the thriller genre. The logo has a blood stained hand print which goes with the thriller/horror genre as a representative as well as company that funds the film.

Rough Cut FeedbackThe Rough cut Feedback has helped me and my group to improve our opening title sequence immensely.

Some of the feedback and what to improve on:

-Great Mise en scene-Flashback is clear, but perhaps add a blur or a darker monochrome effect to make it more clear to the audience-Following the storyboard-Good acting skills-Add titles-Forest scene missing-Look over conventions of titles – (put them in correct order)

As a response to this feedback I have added the title sequence in between the shots on a blank black screen. Added a more deeper monochrome effect for the flashback. Added the missing forest scene as well as added slow motion onto the running in the forest.

I have reviewed the ‘Gone Girl’ title sequence and followed the order of the titles.

How did I make the film more appealing as a finished product?

To be able to release a good film content I have improved the titles. I have put the titles on the blank black screen in order, following the conventional order in the thriller genre. The font was changed as well as the title being put in the front of the opening title sequence.

The shots where the 180 degree rule was broken were fixed to only stay on one side of the axis when filming so that we wouldn't brake the 180 degree rule when shooting.

We have also added a slow motion effect on the running to make it more dramatic further contributing to the atmosphere. The forest scenes were also inserted towards the end of our project that we have edited and added effects to.

The music consisted of a soundtrack. It was layered with different sound such as breathing, the wind in the forest and heartbeat. The music had been altered by making it gradually louder from one point to the other as well as getting quieter when reaching the end, so it fades.

How I have reached my target audience so far

•Genre: Thrillers are mostly viewed by teenagers and adults. City and Islington college students were able to view the film.•Locations: areas like the forest, toy shop and the busy street are all relatable. The target audience has experienced every location, so it is easier for them to recreate a feeling they have whilst watching the main character in the film. Being able to connect with the film.•Characters and actors: The main character is a teenage girl. The audience that watches thriller is typically girls that are in their youth or young adults.•Sound: Effective build up towards the end of sounds that are of that genre.

To get my content out there, the Vimeo website is accessible to all students which are in the age range of our target audience.

Has the film attracted a new audience?

Our film has not attracted another audience. Our audience has stayed constant.

What does my audience think of the Film?
