how do we build better teams?

A new approach to designing teams
an evolutionary, multidisciplinary solution
presented by Atma Degeyndt
But, what are rules?
For our purpose rules are expectations, social norms, mores,
customs, and such.
So how shall we proceed into this almost indecipherable morass?
We have to build a an evolutionary, multidisciplinary solution.
This brings us to part 2…
Part 2: Using Mechanism Design, Superrationality, Knowledge Sharing, and
Metacognition to break the rules.
whew… let break these down first
Instigating Question:
How should a planner reach a decision when the quality of the decision relies on information spread among a number of people?
In English that says…
that any solution should take into account the incentives of self-interested agents…
A mechanism design problem has 3 key inputs:
1. A collective decision problem2. A criteria for assessing outcome3. A description of the resources – knowledge,
data, emotions, desires, etc…, held by the participants.
E.G. Reciprocal Benefit Incentive
an RBI is when one entity’s success is tied to the success of a partner
entity
How do all four pieces fit together?
Framework/Summary/Science1. MD - Design from back to front (Game Theory)2. SR - Wire in mutualism and reciprocal benefits (Game
Theory)3. KS - Enshrine learning and X-training (Organization Science)4. MC - The Circle of Permission (Cognitive Psychology)
