The Coronavirus is a virus that makes people feel sick.

This virus is spreading very fast across the world right now.

When a person has the Coronavirus, they might have: a low fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, or a sore throat.

To stop the spread of the Coronavirus, we have to make some changes to keep us safe.

These changes might feel weird or different at first, but I know that they are keeping me safe and healthy.

It’s important that people don’t spread germs that cause the Coronavirus.

Germs are very small. I can’t see germs with my eyes. Germs can spread without me knowing!

There are easy ways that I can prevent spreading germs.

Keeping a safe distance from other people

The Coronavirus is spread quickly from one person to another person.

When there are a lot of people in one place, the virus can spread fast.

Because of how fast the virus spreads, my school and many of the stores and restaurants I like to go to will be closed.

They are closed so that people can stay home and not spread germs.

Now that my school is closed, I will be learning from home.

My teacher might send me school-work to do, or the grownups in my house might find learning activities for me.

My schedule might be different than what I’m used to, and that’s OK.

Some of my favorite places might be closed too. The recreation centers are closed right now to keep people safe.

I know that my favorite places will open again once the coronavirus is gone.

Even though I can’t go to school or my favorite places, there are still fun activities that I can do while I’m at home!

I can take a walk in a nearby park with my family. I can ride my bike. I can draw with chalk on the sidewalk.

I know that the Coronavirus will go away but I’m not sure when.

That is OK. I can ask my grownups questions if I’m feeling confused. I know that my routine will go back to normal again one day.

I know that keeping myself and my family safe is what is most important.
