How My Magazine Appeals To The Target Audience
By Jonathan Larham
A big, bold, capitalised masthead draws in the readers attention, by being striking to the eye.
Having a catchy slogan which has the name of the magazine incorporated in it, makes the audience remember it more easily
Having a low price of £2.00 is very appealing to the audience
Big, easy-to-read coverlines draw the reader in a want more from the magazine
Having a sub-image relieves the reader to look at an image that’s not as important as the main image.
Having a competition with such a great reward on the front cover is a great way to appeal to the audience because they are immediately draw in by the contest
This main image appeals to the audience because it is an artist that they can easily recognise, on the front cover and he is playing a instrument that they like to listen to.
Having an easy, readable and big font coverstory attracts the reader because they are drawn in by it.
Having a big, capitalised headline also attracts the audience
Having the bands and artists in bold appeals to the audience because it highlights to them the important bits of their interest so then they can immediately be drawn to the part of the contents that attracts them i.e. Their favourite band
Having little images on the contents page appeals to the audience because it shows their favourite artists in a different light from what their used to or it could be a conventional image.
Having captions underneath the images appeals to the audience because it informs them on what the images they see are about.
Like on the previous slide, having a competition on the page helps the reader to try and win a prize. And on this page it show who’s guitar it actually is and that it is signed by that person.
Having two different font styles for the headlines is good because it appeals to the audience by showing variation and that it is different
Having a standfirst appeals to the audience because it informs the audience who is writing the article
Having a kicker attracts the reader because it shows you where the body copy starts
These pull quotes attract the audience by showing them little snippets of the article in quotation marks away from the article and they are appealing to the audience when they split up big bodies of text
The main image of the double page spread is good for attracting as it is a picture into the current life of the artist and also some fans can use this as a poster for them to stick onto walls
The body copy is appealing to the audience as it helps inform the audience on the artist and especially when it is an interview with different coloured font this makes it easier to read and easily accessible
Having a sub-image is another way in which a double page spread appeals to its audience because its another image of their favourite artist
Having captions appeals because it has information in them that appeals to them by informing them on information they’d want to know
