How the text helps make the main product

and ancillary texts effective

Page 2: How the text

The text used on our ancillary texts are very crucial as its what give the most informative piece of the advert or digipak, as it shows the band name, the song title, this means they can be drawn in to buy it, or even buy it on itunes as they now have the name and artist to go find it meaning the audience is purchasing the product because of the information seen on the ancillary texts making them both very effective. The text can then inform people about what sort of genre the main product is so can inform the audience about whether they would like it or not.

Page 3: How the text

Our text is ‘ARMY RUST’ and we found this unique design online to make it really original, however the slightly worn away look makes it seem more grunge rock genre and then the capitalised letters that really stand out and make a large eye catching statement makes it more alternative indie genre. This means people who like this genre will be more attracted to buy our product, however using this font on both the advert and digipak makes the two together very effective.

The smaller writing on the advert is in simple ‘Calibri’ font as i wanted to draw more attention to the title of the song and the artists name, however the words that i use connect to the digipak to make them effective. By using ‘Album’ audiences instantly think that there is a whole album to buy and the main song is ‘radioactive’.

This section of the text is the same as the the top except with out the slightly worn look making them different so noticeable yet bigger then the smaller text so people can identify the band.

Digipak

This digipak involves the same ‘//’ double slash which is used on the advert making them relatable and modern as it is a technique we found used in other advert and digipaks like London grammar. The main part of the digipak also involves the symbol as well as text as this symbol is used in the main product advert and digipak making it noticeable throughout our products and therefore making the identifyability of the main product and ancillary texts more effective.
