HOW TO ADD GUESTSTO IBM CONNECTIONS
WHY ADD GUESTS
• You would add a guest if you want to;• Share a file with an external user
• Add an external user to a community
CLICK PEOPLE, MY CONTACTS AND CREATE CONTACT
FILL IN NAME AND EMAIL ADDRESS, THEN CLICK SAVE
CLICK INVITE TO MY NETWORK
CLICK SEND INVITATION
THERE’S NO DELAYS
• The User will be sent an Email Message
• But you don’t have to wait for the user to set themselves up….• You can add them to communities
• You can add them to shared files
• @mentions may take longer because they have to accept YOU as well
THE GUEST IS NOTIFIED
COMPLETE THE FORM
• Clicking the link takes the guest to the form.
• On the Form, the guest will need to set a password (& retype).
• Country: Australia
• Language: English (United States)
• Time Zone: GMT +11 in daylight savings, GMT +10 when not. Just choose Melbourne.
• Tick to accept the Terms.
• Click Submit.
THE GUEST LOGS INTO CONNECTIONS
• Once the form has been filled in, the new user will be redirected to the login page for connections.
• They need enter their email address and password.
• Then click Login.
CONNECTIONS FOR GUESTS
• Guests have a profile page
• They can update their profile info
• They see updates and notifications.
• They can look at communities.
• They can share files.
• They can invite other guests to connect (but not to communities).
• More things are coming for Guests in the 3rd Quarter of 2016.
ACCEPTING INVITATIONS
• If you invite a guest to a Community…
• They will receive an email with a link but they can also click on Communities, I’m Invited to see their invitations.
• Clicking Accept will allow them into the community.
