How to Avoid Sea
Sickness
Do you get seasick?
Here’s my list of 20 ways to prevent
seasickness.
(20th method is the best and works fast!)
1. Try to reserve a cabin in
the middle of the ship and
near the waterline.
2. Avoid caffeine at least 24
hours before getting on the
ship.
3. Do not consume greasy,
heavy and acidic foods
because they are slow to
digest.
4. Eat something light an
hour before the ship leaves.
5. Ginger is excellent at
preventing sea sickness.
6. Avoid alcohol the night
before boarding the ship.
7. Get a good night's sleep
the evening before your trip.
8. On the boat, drink lots of
water to stop dehydration
and eat light snacks.
9. Have a Coke because it
contains some of the same
ingredients find in over-the-
counter anti nausea
medications.
10. On the boat, try to stay
as long as possible on the
fresh air. Outside is better
than inside.
11. Don't smoke and avoid
people who smoke.
12. Stay away from diesel
and exhaust fumes.
13. Don’t read, use
binoculars or cameras for
long periods of time.
14. Do not become too hot.
15. Spend time in the part of
the boat with the least
movement.
16. Stand if you feel
nauseous and look out over
the horizon. Do not sit or lie
down. Don't go below ship.
17. Concentrate on
something else. Participate
in different ship activities.
18. Stay relax. Anxiety can
worsen seasickness.
19. Avoid individuals who are
already nauseous. Seeing
others with motion sickness
may cause you to become
sick.
20. Use this wrist band - it is
the best and fastest
solution. Can be worn before
or after nausea sets in. You
can eat and drink with no
restrictions. Find more
