Cultivate aPOSITIVE SELF IMAGE
Yourself &
A person’s real self is who they are when
they release all of the labels,
judgments, and stories that
they’ve set upon themselves.
People are always telling others to “be yourself” but most have no idea what these two words actually mean.
These steps will help with uncovering one’s real nature.
Follow your passion and feed your spirit, mind, and soul
It is not enough to view yourself in terms of titles at work and salaries.
These two things do not make up a
person’s self-worth.
Let your inner child have some fun
Most adults play roles to fit in and
crush their true nature because they fear what
others will think.
Children simply have fun and enjoy
the moment.
Find your inner strengths
Embrace your personality no matter how different it is from others.
Be aware when you’re pretending and never let it get to the point where you can’t tell who’s the real you anymore.
Tune into your feelings
When you’re in tuned with your
feelings, you understand
yourself better.
You achieve a sense of peace
which makes you strong
enough to deal with any stress
or conflict.
Become more aware of your thoughts
Realitycan take form based on negative patterns of thinking.
Give time for solitude to become more aware of your thoughts and their quality.
Get out of your shell…gradually
To be yourself, you need to identify the ways in which you’re being inauthentic.
Set small goals to change and work to achieve them one by one.
Remember that it’s okay to be yourself
Engage in positive self-talk : a reassuring and constructive inner dialog.
This helps ease the tension and makes it easier to interact with others in a social setting.
