THINGS TO LOOK AT WHEN DECIDING

• If you want to go to any good university and have a great future, then there is a few things to pay attention for when deciding.

- Tuition costs of the university.- Graduation rate.- Rank of the university (use U.S. News)- Rank of the school you want to attend within the university.- Difference in salaries one could make from graduating from one school, then compared to another.

UT VS. MIT

• I personally love UT and have visited the campus and think its great.• Engineering graduation rate is barely over 50%,

which isn’t very good• Ranked down around 28th in the nation as a

university but ranked 11th for the engineering school.• Costs only about $10,000 a year• Has 9 areas to earn an engineering degree• Starting salary have about $70,000 for a

mechanical engineer.

• MIT is ranked 1st in the nation as a university and also ranked 1st for its engineering school.• Costs about $32,000 a year.• 15 areas to earn an engineering degree• Graduation rate is about 95%• Almost guaranteed to have a job lined up before

graduatio• Starting salary for a mechanical engineer is

between $75,000-$85,000 a year.
