To conjugate German verbs in the present tense, start by taking the ‘en’ from the verb in the infinitive.

Regular = they follow the same pattern

• Ich …e•Du …st• Er/sie/es …t•Wir …en• Ihr …t• Sie …en

Then add verb endings as follows:

So, spielen gets conjugated as follows:

• Ich spiele•Du spielst•Er/sie/es spielt•Wir spielen• Ihr spielt•Sie spielen
