Add items to your shopping cart

Add items to a cart that you want in your quote.

1. There are a few ways to add items to a cart:

a. Use the Search feature in the upper right corner to locate your items. On the Search Results page you can use the Narrow Your Search to find your items quicker. Add a quantity and click Add to Cart.

b. On a Product Detail page you can add a quantity and click Add to Cart or Order Template.

c. Under Order Management, you can use the Express Order by Item # feature. Type in up to 10 items, add a quantity and click Add Items to Shopping Cart.

2. Click on “Shopping Cart” in the upper right corner when you are done shopping.

1a. Enter item #, description or publisher.

1a. Use Narrow Your Search to drill down on the item.

1a. Enter quantity and click “Add to Cart”

2. Click on “Shopping Cart” to view your cart.

1b. From Product Detail page, add quantity and click Add to Cart or Template.

1c. Under Order Management, use Express Order by Item # to add items to a cart. Type up to 10 items, add quantity and click Add to Cart.

• While viewing your cart, click on the link in the upper left corner to “Save as Quote.”

Click “Save as Quote” to create your quote.

• From this page you can create a new quote by naming it and saving it. Or if you want to add products to an existing quote, select the quote using the adjacent radio button and click Continue.

• If there's an item that is not in your catalog, you can complete a quote form using the blue link under Create a New Quote.

Enter name for a new Quote.

Select an existing quote to add items to.

• From this page you can do a variety of tasks.

1. Rename your quote.

2. Add the items from your quote to a cart and purchase them.

3. Email the quote to a colleague to review and/or to yourself.

4. Email the quote to your Sales Rep to review.

5. Remove an item or change quantities.

a. Be sure to click Update & Save after making the changes.

6. Delete a quote.

• If your organization has requested that we capture certain pertinent information on every order placed with us, you will also be able to select these fields to be included in your report. They are called Custom Information Option (CIO).

• For creating a quote, you can skip this step or complete them before submitting your quote.

• For this training, we will complete the CIO fields.

• If your organization does not use CIO fields, you will not see this popup.

• If your organization has requested that we capture key information on every order, you’ll be prompted to complete the information.

• Custom Information Options or CIO fields are used when your organization requests that we capture certain pertinent information on every order. Some fields are mandatory, some are optional. Also they can be Order Level fields that apply to the whole order. Or, they can be Item Level fields that apply just to the individual Item level.

• CIO fields will be used on invoices, packing slips and as part of your Dell | ASAP Software Online reports.

• In this example, there are two mandatory fields to complete – Cost Center and Job Number.

• CIO fields, format, and the number of fields will vary from organization to organization.

• In this example, the customer wanted to capture Asset Tag for every line item.

• If the information that is requested for the Item Level CIO field is the same for every item, you can populate the fields by selecting the “Duplicate” bar below the field.

• From this screen you are able to pick a shipping address. How your user profile access rights are set up by your Site Supervisor will dictate if you can create Personal shipping addresses or only use Enterprise addresses. If you have access to both Personal and Enterprise Shipping Addresses, you will see two tabs at the top. Toggle between the tabs to locate the address you need. Or create a new one.

• To save time, you can designate a Shipping Address as a default so you don't have to search and select it for each order.

• Another time saver is to create a default "Attention of" name. This will populate all your orders. At any time you can overwrite the default on a single order or change the default to something new.

Choose an existing address.

Toggle between Personal and Enterprise (if given access)

Enter a new address.

Enter a default “Attention of “ name

Search for an address.

Set address as default shipping address.

Click on column headers to sort.

• If you didn’t designate an “Attention of”, a box will appear.

• This box gives you three options:

1. Use the default name

2. Leave it blank

3. Enter a new name

a. You can save this name as the new default by checking the box at the bottom “Set as Your Default”

• Select the shipping method for your quote. If your quote includes a software volume license, you can choose to have that emailed as an attached PDF file. Should additional people receive a copy of the Electronic License Confirmation via email, then add those addresses in the field designated.

• Depending on how your account is set up will determine what type of payment method is presented. Some accounts have credit cards only, some have purchase orders only and some have both.

• For quoting purposes we only need to know the payment type, not the exact PO # or CC #. That will be entered when you convert the quote to an order.

• Before you email your quote, be sure to review it for accuracy. If there is something that needs to be changed, select the appropriate “Edit” link and make your changes.

• When you are ready to email the quote, click on “Email Quote” at the bottom left corner. Or if you decided not to email it, you can save your changes in the bottom left corner.

• For training purposes, we are going to click on Email Quote.

Use any of the “Edit” links to make changes to that section.

• On the email form, choose what file format (Excel or PDF) for the quote.

• Enter the recipients name. If you are using more than one email address, place a comma between each address. You may only enter up to five email addresses.

• If you would like to receive a copy of the quote, check the box next to “Email a copy to yourself”.

• If needed, you can change the copy in the subject line and message box.

• When done, click on Send Email.

• If you had selected at the beginning of this process to email to your Sales Rep, the recipient email address would be prepopulated with your inside and outside software sales rep.

Click “Send Email” to send the quote.

Choose quote type.

Enter recipient email address(es)

Check box if you want a copy of the quote.

Change copy in subject and or message box.

• Once you send the quote a confirmation window will pop-up letting you know it was sent successfully.

Quote Completed

You have completed creating a quote. Go back to the Help Section online to view more tutorials.
