How To Create Easy Updos
If you are having a bad hair day, running late or simply want a few extra minutes tucked up in bed then updos are your new best friend. Even celebrities are making good use of simple updo hairstyles when off duty and on the red carpet. MyBeautyCompare has put together a quick guide to our 3 favourite quick and easy updos.
The Messy Bun
This updo is one of the most versatile simple updo hairstyles and is a favourite celebrity updo as it has been seen on celebrities including Sienna Miller and Jennifer Lawrence. Before you start styling your hair use a mousse such as John Frieda Boost Mousse to give your hair some extra body then backcomb or tease your hair slightly to create volume. However if you want to know the perfect product for your hair length and type then take the beauty bio and then search for hair mousse. This style can be a high bun or a low bun so depending on which one you want pull your hair into a high or low ponytail. When securing with a hair band on the last loop don't pull your hair all the way through to create the bun. Twist any excess hair around the edge of the bun and secure with hair pins to create the look you want. Remember this is a messy bun so feel free to pull a few strands of hair out and let them fall loosely around your face. Finish with a quick spray of hairspray and your quick updo is complete.
The Braided Updo
This is a quick updo in the style of Emma Watson. This beautiful hairstyle can be worn during the day and during the evening. This quick updo is best suited to medium or long length hair. Start by dividing your hair down the middle into two sections. Begin braiding the right side of your head into a french braid by adding sections of hair gradually and then secure into a ponytail. Repeat on the other side of your head and then secure into the same ponytail as before, so both braids end in one ponytail. Twist the ponytail into a bun and secure with hairpins and use a hairspray such as L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray Extra Strength for Dry or Damaged Hair.

The French Twist
The french twist always springs to mind when we think of quick updo hairstyles. This look is simple yet sophisticated making it perfect for work. French twists can be created with most hair lengths and is a really quick updo to have you on your way in no time. Brush your hair, pull it into a ponytail, but don't use a hair band just hold it with your hands. Then twist your hair onto your head into a vertical line. If you have long hair tuck it underneath the twist and secure with hair clips and a spray of hairspray to complete this quick updo.
