Next you need a Facebook ad image. (We discussed how to create a Facebook ad design using
Canva in our previous video. Please watch that video if you haven’t already.)
Note: If you just want to share your product link on Facebook, the post image will be populated
from the link and you don’t have to worry about the ad image separately.

How to Shorten Your Link:
Another thing you can consider is to shorten your URL.
If you’re not aware of the process, it’s really simple.
Click here to open Google URL Shortener.
Simply enter your long SunFrog URL and click “Shorten URL.”

A box will appear with your short URL.
Simply click the “copy icon” to copy your URL.

This is how your short URL will look.
Note: If you’re sharing your URL, then it’s a really cool way to shorten your URLs because sharing
long and bulky URLs can be difficult. This step is not necessary, but I highly recommend you do
this.

OK, so now we have the product, the ad creative, and a URL — we can go ahead and make our
Facebook ad.
How to Create a Facebook Page Post:
– Go to your Facebook page and add your ad image as a post. – Enter a message, like an engaging question. – With an engaging message, in addition to potential likes and shares on your post, you’ll
also be more likely to get comments from people, which will increase engagements. – Enter a Call to Action. – Enter your short URL.
Once all set, click the “Publish” button.

So whenever anyone clicks the URL, they will be sent to your product page. When a purchase is
made, you’ll get credit for it.

How to Create a Facebook Ad
Now it’s time to take it to the next level. Let’s create a Facebook ad.
In the Facebook drop-down list, click “Create Ads.”
This is how your Facebook Create Ad page will look.
You can select any marketing objective here, but for starters, I recommend you start with
“Engagement” for a couple of reasons.

Best Marketing Objective
Engagements offer a multipurpose approach. You’ll get posts as well as post likes, shares, and
engagements, and it will also help increase engagements on your page, helping you build a fan
page. Also, among all the ad objectives, it is the easiest to set up.
So here we’ll select “Engagements.”
– Enter a “Campaign Name” — choose something relevant so you can easily identify the
campaign later
– Select between “Post Engagement / Post Likes / Event Responses”
– Here we’ll select “Post engagement” and click “Continue”

Audience
The next step is to select your audience.
In the previous two trainings, we found our audience to market to. That’s the audience we’re
setting this ad to go to.

– Enter “Ad Set Name” — be relevant so you can identify the ad later
– Select your audience age range
– Select your audience gender
– In “Detailed Targeting,” select your target interest, “Shakeology”
This is how you set up your audience.
Save Audience Tip: Once you set up your audience, you can also click the “Save Audience” button
to save your audience for later use.

Placements
The next thing you’ll look at is “Placements.”
Mostly you can run “Automatic” to see how it works. But for this particular ad type, our
conversion is based on the users clicking the URL, so select “Edit Placements” and uncheck
“Instagram” under platforms.
Important Note for Instagram: If you goal is to get more engagements, keep “Instagram” selected
because Instagram can offer you good engagements. But if your goal is to get sales, then keep
Instagram unchecked because it doesn’t drive sales from engagement ads, and if kept as
selected, you’ll lose money and get no sales.

Set Up a Budget for Your Ad:
Next you’ll decide on a budget. I highly recommend you to start with $5.00 daily budget because
this way you won’t lose much money per day. The higher the budget, the broader your audience
gets. So imagine $5.00 per day is your budget for your target audience, “Shakeology.” For $5.00
a day, Facebook will put your ad directly in front of those people who’re mostly likely to engage
with your content. If you increase your budget to $15 or $20, Facebook will start showing your
ad to friends of your audience. If you spend even more money, then Facebook will show your
ads to friends of friends of your audience.
Note: $5.00 is the minimum budget per day you can assign to a campaign.
Select a schedule for how long you want to run your ad.

Keep the “Bid Amount” set to automatic. Some people say manual bidding can be very helpful,
but that’s a more advanced feature, so I suggest not using that unless you’re an expert.
Click the “Continue” button to proceed.

On next page, you will link your post to your ad.
– Select your Facebook page.
– Select the post you want to promote.
– Once you select a post, you’ll see the preview of your ad.
– Make sure to select “Pixel Tracking.” Selecting this will ensure your ad performance is
tracked properly.
Once you’re done, click the “Place Order” button to run your Facebook ad.
Congratulations! In this training, you learned how to run your Facebook ad.
