1.4 Some important points

Try to use single folder for keeping all the documents of web page

Try to put all images in one folder Name of the home page should be strictly index.html since web

server detects home page as index.html

2. How to publish website

2.1 Buy domain name

Buy a domain name from any good registrar (Domain selling company)

Example:Godaddy.comBigrock.in2gbhosting.com etc

While buying domain name it will be asked for choosing the domain nameand available domain name on internet will be provided by registrar, oneshould be careful while choosing domain name.

One should choose best domain name which have betterappeal than any other.

Many facilities will be provided with domain name which can be used byowner to improve sites performance.

2.2 Buy web hosting account

Step 1. Finding a Hosting Plan hosting plan are generally of twotypes Windows based & Linux based , anyone can be opted for use .

Unless you expect your website to receive thousands of visitors eachday, you will be looking for a Web hosting provider that offers eithershared hosting, aka cheap web hosting, or single-application hosting

plans. With either plan type, you will share system resources withother customers who host their websites on the same server as you.Because modern servers are incredibly powerful, multiple websitescan reside on one server without performance issues.

Note:

* Don't get much web space registered if you are not using it innear future.

* If you have more than one site, your best bet is to have a reselleraccount. By getting this you can host as many websites as you wantfrom (Host Gator, Fast Next, or find your own.

Step 2. After buying hosting plan , it can be seen that hosting

company provides many tools under Control Panel (CMS ContentManagement System) listed below

A single-application hosting plan such as a WordPress hosting plan allows you to install only one Content Management System.

A standard shared hosting plan may allow you to create multiple websitesand install several Content Management Systems such as WordPress,Joomla and Drupal.A shared hosting plan also gives you direct access to the server in case

you would like to try creating a website from scratch using Web designsoftware such as Dreamweaver or EditPlus.If you opt for a shared hosting plan, the hosting provider should offerautomatic installation of Content Management Systems and otherapplications. This feature usually has a name such as One-Click Installor Easy Install. With this feature, you can log in to your account andclick an icon to install the application you want your website to use. Inaddition, thehosting plan should be affordable and offer unlimited disk

space without a monthly data transfer limit.

2.3 Connect your web hosting account to domain

After buying web hosting account and domain name it is the time forconnecting them together , it came be done by following steps :

Step 1. Find the list of nameserver by logging to Web hosting(generally it will be mailed by Web hosting company on providede-mail by user)

Step 2. Now login to Domain account and open control panel to findDNS server list

Step 3. Update the nameserver provided by Web hosting account tothe DNS server list of Domain account on the top of the list

Step 4. Save the list by clicking on SAVE button

Step 5. Finally it is done (now your website is on the internet )

Now your website is ready to get upload , a message can be seen fromwebhosting company on your website URL after watching it on internetwhich tells you about default operations for uploading contents to yourwebsite and to upload in which folder (everything is mentioned in that

message ) . You will be given details of the location of your space, a UserID and a password, Hostname

2.4 Get a FTP software

You now have the website prepared and ready to go. The next move is to publish it on the Internet by uploading it to a server that i spoke about

earlier.Your website will consist mostly of web page files and images. Theprocess used to upload the files from a desktop PC to this space is calledFTP (File Transfer Protocol).

Within the FTP client you set up the connection with the requiredinformation (the user ID and login from your hostingcompany). When this is set up for your site then all you have to do is drag

and drop the files from your PC to the hostingspace. This process is very similar to moving files between folders on yourown PC using Internet Explorer. The FTP client saves the details making iteasier to do this on subsequent occasions.When your site has been uploaded it can be accessed immediately via theInternet by entering the domain name into the address bar.

2.5 Upload web content with FTP software

Now simply web content have to be uploaded to server using FTP software

, it can be done in following steps :

Step 1. Note down the Hostname , Username and passward fromWeb hosting account

Step 2. After installing create new account in the FTP softwareusing data from Web hosting account

Step 3. After creating account click on connect button

Step 4. Now on right hand side it is local system folder whereyour web contents are located and on right hand side Remoteserver is listed where web contents from local system foldercan be copied to it by just dragging from one side to another ,with all this editing can alsoBe done online and here publishing part finishes.

3. How to earn from website

3.1. PPC Advertising Networks:

Google AdSense is the most popular option under this category, but thereare also others. Basically you need to sign up with the network and paste

some code snippets on your website. The network will then servecontextual ads (either text or images) relevant to your website, and youwill earn a certain amount of money for every click.

The profitability of PPC advertising depends on the general traffic levelsof the website and, most importantly, on the click-through rate (CTR) andcost per click (CPC). The CTR depends on the design of the website. Ads placed abode the fold or blended with content, for instance, tend to get

higher CTRs. The CPC, on the other hand, depends on the nice of thewebsite. Mortgages, financial products and college education are examplesof profitable niches (clicks worth a couple of dollars are not rare), whiletech-related topics tend to receive a smaller CPC (sometimes as low as acouple of cents per click). The source of the traffic can also affect theoverall CTR rate. Organic traffic (the one that comes from search engines)tends to perform well because these visitors were already looking forsomething, and they tend to click on ads more often.

Social media traffic, on the other hand, presents terribly low CTRsbecause these visitors are tech-savvy and they just ignore ads.

3.2. CPM Advertising Networks:

CPM advertising networks behave pretty much as PPC networks, exceptthat you get paid according to the number of impressions (i.e., page views)that the ads displayed on your site will generate. CPM stands for Cost perMille, and it refers to the cost for 1,000 impressions. A blog that generates100,000 page views monthly displaying an advertising banner with a $1CPM, therefore, will earn $100 monthly.

CPM rates vary with the network, the position of the ad and the format.

The better the network, the higher the CPM rate (because they have accessto more advertisers). The closer you put the ad to the top of the page, thehigher the CPM. The bigger the format (in terms of pixels), the higher theCPM.You can get as low as $0,10 and as high as $10 per 1,000impressions (more in some special cases). CPM advertising tends to workwell on websites with a high page views per visitor ratio (e.g., onlineforums, magazines and so on).

3.3. Direct Banner Advertising

Selling your own advertising space is one of the most lucrativemonetization methods. First and foremost because it enables you to cut out

the middleman commissions and to determine your own rates. The most popular banner formats on the web are the 72890 leaderboard, the120600 skyscraper, the 300250 rectangle and the 125125 button.

The downside of direct banner advertising is that you need to have a bigaudience to get qualified advertisers, and you will need to spend timemanaging the sales process, the banners and the payments.Related links:
