How to Draw The Elf on the Shelf®

1a. Start by drawing a circle for the elf’s head.

1b. Use a pencil to draw a vertical guideline (A) down the center of the circle.

1c. Then, use the pencil to draw two horizontal guidelines (B & C) shown above—one across

the center of the circle and one near the bottom of the circle. (You’ll erase the guidelines later!)

2a. Draw two half circles between the two horizontal guidelines (B & C) for the elf’s ears.

2b. Use the guidelines (A & B) to draw two half ovals for the elf’s eyes.

2c. At the intersection of the guidelines (A & C), draw a small “v” for the elf’s nose, a big “u”

with two smile lines for the elf’s mouth and a small heart shape for the elf's lips.

2d. Draw two short lines down from the circle for the elf’s neck.

2e. Erase all guidelines.

3a. Finish the elf’s eyes by drawing small circles for pupils and lines for irises. Add three

eyelashes to the right side of each eye.

3b. Draw two eyebrows above the elf's eyes.

3c. Create the elf’s hair by drawing two curved lines on the right and le� sides of the elf’s face.

Draw three curved lines near the top of the elf’s face for her bangs. Lastly, draw two additional

half circles between the elf's ears and necklines to complete the bottom of her hair.

3d. Add earrings.

4a. Create the elf’s collar by drawing a horizontal line that connects the bottoms

of the two neck lines.

4b. Draw two diagonal lines, one from the bottom of the le� neck line and one from the

bottom of the right neck line.

4c. Finish the elf’s collar by drawing a zigzag line, connecting the bottoms of the two

diagonal lines.

5a. Lastly, create the elf’s hat. First, draw a semi-circle above the elf’s head from ear-to-ear.

5b. Complete the elf’s hat by drawing an upside down “v” on top of the semi-circle.

Congratulations! You just drew The Elf on the Shelf®.
