I know what it 's l ike to suddenly hit midlife l ike a brickwall .   It seemed to pop up out of the blue. One day I was abusy mom and the next the house was quiet, and myhormones went berserk.

For quite a while I struggled with getting my groove back. Ihad lost my passion for many of the things I once enjoyed, and I felt l ike the best was behind me.

I was not okay with that. And you shouldn't be okay with that, either.

I set out to make some adjustments and ended up onwhole new path that gives me purpose, and I ’d l ike to helpyou do the same.

So, let's get started!

Mindset refers to the established set ofattitudes that you hold.

Having a positive mindset means thatyou're making positive thinking a habitby continually searching for the silverlining. You make the best out of anysituation you find yourself in.

You'll want to concentrate on the goodthings in your l ife, no matter howinsignificant they may seem. Thisespecially applies when faced withchallenging situations that inevitablyarise.

Stay clear of the negative folks outthere. It 's  crucial to be around positivepeople because they help l ift us up tosee the bright side of things, which canbe contagious and will improve our self-esteem.

Negative thinking is generally based onyour fears, such as fear of the unknownand  fear of the inabil ity to cope. Therecan be some severe side effects of toomuch negativity, such as stress, anger, and hostil ity.

However, positive thinking isn’t simplyabout burying every negative thought oremotion you have or avoiding diff icultfeelings. It 's important to realize thelowest points in our l ives are often theones that motivate us to move on andmake positive changes.

Gravity and wrinkles are

fine with me . They 're a

small price to pay for the

new wisdom inside my

head and my heart .

Embracing  the aging process is diff icult for some. You mayfeel 25 on the inside but when you look in a mirror, youdon't recognize the face staring back at you.

We are always seeing the promotion of  ANTI-agingproducts, as if aging is a bad thing. It is only natural to age,and it isn't shameful at all .

Aging gracefully is different for everyone. To me, it meansthat I understand the changes that are coming, and I planto accept and manage them to the best of my abil itywithout becoming overwhelmed by them.

This isn't to say I won't put up a l ittle f ight here and there. Ialready color my graying hair regularly. . .will I quit that?Maybe one day, but that's not today. I have had Botox inthe past. . .will I do it again? Maybe, I am not opposed to it .

Not f ighting it doesn't mean we can't do things to make uslook and feel younger. We will all embrace the agingprocess in our own way. The key is to remember thatgrowing older is a privilege to be cherished and not to betaken for granted.

Self-love is taking care of your ownneeds and not sacrif icing your well-being to please others. Not only is itabout how you treat yourself, but alsoyour thoughts and feelings aboutyourself .

To love oneself is the foundation thatallows us to be assertive, set boundariesand create healthy relationships withothers, while feeling proud of who weare.

Examine the areas of self-doubt in yourlife and choose to clear out that doubtby taking positive action. Observe theway you speak to yourself and adjustyour self-talk to be self-compassionaterather than self-crit ical.

If you struggle with feeling less worthythan others, here is a self-love guidedjournal to help build your self-esteem.

By the time we have reached midlife, wehave become natural caretakers. Wewear the hat of mom, wife, teacher, nurse, etc. , as we are always providingfor those around us. We tend to put uslast and don’t think it ’s important to takecare of ourselves, too. Some even thinkit ’s selfish. Quite the opposite – it ’sselfish to not take care of ourselves!

How can you be expected to care forthose around you if you’re tired and youwish you could have five minutes toyourself? There’s nothing left for you togive if you’re constantly stressed, overwhelmed, and depressed. It ’simportant to take care of yourselfphysically, spiritually, and emotionally.

It 's t ime to put your needs first, andthose around you will benefit from thisas well . Even small acts of self-care willhave a big impact. It 's t ime to makeyourself a priority.

Self-Care

IT'S NOT SELFISH

It is important to understand the facts about menopausebefore you start to experience the symptoms.

Every woman goes through menopause, usually betweenthe ages of 45-55. It starts with perimenopause, when youmay experience symptoms such as hot flashes andirregular periods.

As estrogen levels begin to decline, you go throughchanges in body and mind with each woman’s journeybeing unique. The transition often takes about four years, but some symptoms may last much longer.

Most women don't realize

perimenopause is much

rockier and difficult than

menopause.

Gratitude is a habit . It is not just a one-time "thank you", butan entire way of being in which you joyfully receive goodthings and give thanks for those good things.

Gratefulness has the power to change the way weexperience any situation. Being grateful may not changeyour circumstances, but it does change you, and thatmakes all the difference.

When you’re grateful, you are intentionally, purposefully, and powerfully focused on good things. It allows you toattract more of the very things that you’re grateful for.

IT'S AN ATTITUDE

Regular gratitude can increase your optimism, make youmore relaxed, and deepen your spiritual connection. Butdid you know it is not just a state of mind? It can alsoincrease sleep quality and lessen overall pain levels.

Keeping a gratitude journal is a simple practice withprofound effects. By writ ing down things that you aregrateful for, you keep yourself in a highly grateful state.

I suggest l iving in the moment every day and expressinggratitude for everything that comes your way.
