Have you ever been wondering how you can utilize Instagram to grow your business?

I have never thought of Instagram as a marketing strategy until a couple months ago. I was always using it forposting funs stuff, such as selfies, travel pictures, hangouts with my friends, etc. However, I’ve been alwayswondering how I could increase my followers and become more popular inside of Instagram. I was surfing the Net,trying to follow a lot of random people, tried some free services, where they gave me a bunch of followers (who bythe way ended up as ghost followers and were removed by Instagram). This is something that I don’t recommendto anyone, especially if you want your followers to be engaging. Ghost followers make your account look bad. Forexample, if you have 5000 followers and you get about 30 likes per photo and 1 comment. Don’t you think? I hopeso.

So last year once I started to learn more about Instagram and how I can implement it into my business, and Ifound many ways how you can increase your followers FAST, especially if you’re brand new. You don’t want tocreate high quality content without it being seen my anyone, right?

What’s really cool about Instagram, is marketing there is extremely simple! You don’t need to have any tech skills,you don’t need to run ads, you don’t need to track them, you don’t need to do SEO, nothing like that! And it’sFREE! Instagram literally works for everyone. So let’s dive into getting Instagram Followers for FREE right now!

1)Find Your Friends from Facebook and Follow Them. Once you setup an account and you have no followers,you definitely wanna go to Settings and “Find People to Follow from Facebook. These people are already yourfriends, and most likely they will follow you back and continue to engage with the content that you post onInstagram. So that’s the first thing that I’d recommend to anyone.

2)Make Your Posts Public. This is another crucial part of your Instagram. I see a lot of marketers with PrivateInstagram profiles, and I don’t understand why. I personally want everyone to see my content and engage with it.So one of the first steps on Instagram should be going to Your Profile Editing and make sure that your posts areNOT Private.

3)Syndicate Your Instagram Content to Other Social Media. I personally don’t split my focus on all other SocialMedia marketing. What I do is I share my Instagram posts to my Twitter account and my Facebook Fan Page. Themore people see my content, the more likely they will check out what I’m doing on Instagram and give me a follow.

4)Post 3-5 times a day. When I wasn’t using Instagram as a marketing strategy, I was probably posting a coupletimes a week or even a month, and that was it. Now I post consistently, and if you wanna get results, you gottapost at least 3 times a day. Don’t over-post! That’s not the best thing to do. Just make sure, you post not more than5 pictures per day.

5)Use Hashtags in Your Posts. When you’re just getting started, you want more people to see your stuff, right?Hashtags on Instagram are like Keywords. So when someone types in the search bar, for example, “networkmarketing”, your post will come up. How cool is that? Make hashtags relevant to your posts. You can use up to 30hashtags per post, and then you can re-hashtag 3 times. And what’s really cool is that whenever you re-hashtag,your picture goes UP in the search, so you’re getting more people engage.

6)Connect with 5-10 People in Your Niche on a Daily Basis. That’s one of the most important points. Youshould meet new people every single day if you’re serious about building your business. What I recommend doingis just go to “Search”, type in different hashtags (that are relevant in your niche), find people, like 5-10 of theirpictures, and leave 1 or 2 meaningful comments, you don’t want to leave a comment that looks like this – “coolpic”, that’s what most people leave. Stand out, be unique. And don’t be spammy, just be genuine and ask them toconnect. It is that simple.

7)Add Iconosquare widget to your blog. If you have a blog, I highly recommend you to add Iconosquare widgetto your Sidebar (just like the one I have). It shows your most recent Instagram posts, and people who come toyour blog, will definitely wanna check out your Instagram. That’s a good way to get some followers too.

8)Setup Your Bio. This must have been one of the first steps when you were just getting started with Instagram.You want to be short and to the point. Tell people who you are and what to do. And you also wanna include yourlink (if you’re looking to generate leads on Instagram, you’d better include a capture page). And be sure to includeyour Blog link in your bio (if you have one, if not yet – don’t worry about it, you can always tweak your bio). Peoplewill be more attracted to those who have a captivating bio, than to those that either don’t have anything in their bioor they are just trying to sell their stuff there.

9)Include Your Instagram Account in Your Blog posts. I am always looking to connect with more people, sowhenever I create a blog post, I always include contact information below every post, including Instagram link.And of course, I do have a signature with my Instagram link in my email that I send to my list, so they alwaysknow where to find me.
