    IntroductionPrepare to be BLOWN AWAY.

Greetings fellow armed citizen! My name is PatrickKilchermann, and Im proud to be a team member ofthe United States Concealed Carry Association.

The Best Youre Going To Find.

Our motto at the United States Concealed Carry As-sociation is that we are the Ultimate Resource for the

Armed Citizen. Everything we do is measured againstthis motto. Its common for owner and founder Tim

Schmidt to ask me Is this video tip that were about toemail our members representative of what youd expectfrom the Ultimate Resource for the Armed Citizen? Ifso, we run it. If not- we cut it.

    Deadly Accuracy.

What makes us the Ultimate Resource for the ArmedCitizen? First, we give the best information, because

we only give information that is the proven truth. Noteveryone can say that, but some can. So, we take it onestep further: We are committed to giving you the BESTinformation in the fastest, most easily absorbed man-ner. For example, all of our special reports and booksinclude audio versions for mp3 players, or for your carCD player- not everyone learns by reading!

Perhaps most importantly, our information getsstraight to the point. You are about to learn how toimprove your handgun accuracy overnight. In reality,

youll learn how to do this in about fteen minutes, but we thought that might seem unbelievable. Trust me-its not. Heres the USCCA difference:

    Handgun Accuracy is EASY.

The reason other handgun accuracy instructionalbooks, videos, and articles take so long to get through,is because they are lled with uff. Their authors dont

want to leave you feeling short-changed. This is the

paid by the hour mentality. At the USCCA, we aretotally results oriented. We dont tolerate uff, andneither should you. If there is one thing you will nev-er nd in any of our publications, its ller and uff-

whether its our agship Concealed Carry Magazine,or How to Detect Lies and Liars, or How to Trans-

form Fear Into a Powerful Ally, or The Ultimate Bug-gin Out and Stayin Alive Crash Course, or the reportthat this guide was derived from, 107+ Handgun Ac-curacy Secrets.

The reason is this: Being an effectively armed and pre-pared citizen is NOT hard. You dont need to study ata university for four years to master it, and you dontneed to devote a week to a 400-page book on the sub-

    ject.

    The Ultimate Warrior.

Sure, we can always get better. We can always im-prove our skills in handgun accuracy, for example. But

what we found is this: While it may take thousands of

rounds of practice to get your groups at 25 yards fromfour inches to two inches. It takes ZERO shots to get

your groups at 25 yards from twenty four inches (orworse) to six inches.

And while it may take years of training to be able toeffectively combat multiple threats from a sitting posi-tion with your carry-gun, it only takes a few solid prin-cipals to make sure that, if some sicko jumps you inan alley, YOU are going to be the one going home atnight.

We wanted the SECRETS of shooting well.

In 2007, we recognized that while there was a TON ofmaterial available on shooting, there was nothing inthe way of a be all, end all accuracy guide that could

be read and understood in a day.

Sure, there were volumes on the subject, but its reallynot that difcult. The most experienced shooters willtell you that the biggest problem new shooters have, isthat they over complicate things. Well, its no wonderthey do, when they see 300 page books devoted to grip-ping your handgun.

We wanted to change all that, and offer people some-thing that could be entirely digested in an afternoon orevening, which would tell them the secrets of handgunaccuracy. We wanted people to be able to become no-

ticeably better after just one night, and give them thetools and knowledge that would allow them to mastertheir handguns through cheap practice (that doesntinvolve shooting up all your ammo stock).

We had no idea how simple it would be.

The product of our searching was a 51 page book titled107+ Handgun Accuracy Secrets. Seven world-famousmarksmen and trainers contributed to make it happen, and we proudly offer this book as one of our highestachievements. Its truly a masterpiece, and it containseverything that one must know to truly master his orher handgun.

What you are about to read is a report on a few of these

key secrets- and I personally guarantee you that thisreport will boost your accuracy overnight.

    Stay safe,

How To Improve Your Shooting Accuracy In One Evening

Section 1The One and OnlyTrue Secret

to Handgun Accuracy. If you were to clamp your handgun into a vice and reit at a target from ten yards, what do you think wouldhappen? Ill tell you what would happen, and it doesntmatter if youre shooting a Kimber 1911, a GLOCK, or aBaretta Bobcat .22LR. What would happen is this: yourhandgun would re nearly perfect groups.

Why then, do you suppose that when you take the samegun into your hands, your groups are nowhere nearperfect? Its simple- your gun is not pointing where you

want it to hit. It may seem like it is, but you must realizethat it takes very little movement to throw off the pointof impact.

Consider this: Your barrel is a straight line, and at ten yards, your bullet exits the barrel and is ying in anear-perfect straight path. Lets say that your barrel isfour inches long. That means that over ten yards, your

bullet must travel 90 barrel-lengths in free ight beforeit hits the target.

Using simply trigonometry, we know that by movingthe tip of your barrel just ONE DEGREE to the left orright will make your bullet hit 6.3 inches to the left orright over just TEN yards. And that is just ONE degree. Many inches exhibited by shooters cause a shift of 3degrees or more.

Heres another experiment. Take a laser-pointer, andstand ten yards from a target. Without turning the la-ser on, hold it as solid as you can, pointing straight at

your bullseye. This should feel easy. You may notice itmoving a tiny bit, but its otherwise solid. Now turn the

laser on. Youll see it dancing all around the bullseye-within a 1-2 inch circle if youre very solid, but more ifyoure not. Now try moving your pointer (trigger) n-ger around, and watch it really dance.

So let me sum this up. Pay attention, because every-thing that you are about to read and learn is based onthis premise: IF you are not cutting perfect holes at

10 yards with your handgun, THEN you are movingyour gun away from the point of aim before the bulletleaves the barrel.

The beauty of this if/then statement is that it boilshandgun accuracy (at any range) down to one simplefact: Improving your accuracy is as simple as holding

    your handgun steadier.

Here is how were going to use this fact to teach youto achieve better accuracy overnight, and deadly ac-curacy over time:

First, were going to talk about the correct way to gripa handgun.

Second, well talk about trigger control and inching.

Third, well talk about how you can practice thesesecrets to boost your accuracy by a factor of four orhigher. Remember that this is going to work as well forone handed shooting, weak handed shooting, shootingat extremely long ranges, and shooting while movingaround.

Section 2.Grip: The Maker or Breaker

of Handgun Accuracy. The foundation of all handgun accuracy lies withinyour grip on the gun itself. With a solid enough grip,it really doesnt matter if you inch, or perform a lessthan perfect trigger press. Granted, we will never havea truly rock-solid grip, so these other factors are impor-tant. It is important to know though, that in this and allother senses, your grip is the key to handgun accuracy.

The rst thing we need to establish is theproper grip form.

Remember to grip as high as possible on the gunshandle. Your strong hand (the hand with your trig-ger nger) should contact the entire back edge of thehandle, and the webbing between your thumb and in-dex nger should make solid contact with the dovetailof the back of the handle (if there is one).

Most handguns have this dovetail, as it protects yourhand from being damaged by the slide on an automat-ic, or from interfering with the hammer on a standardrevolver. The higher you grip, the more in-line with the

barrel your hand will be, which will give you a HUGEadvantage in accuracy by reducing the recoil and re-covery time needed between shots . Remember that thelower you grip, the more the pistol will twist in yourhand from the shots recoil, and the less accurate, andthe slower you will be. Grip high.

For a one-handed grip, the gun should slant at a 45degree angle inward, so that the slide is closer to yourchest, and the handle points toward your back. If thisdoesnt make sense, try this: Turn your head to your

right (if youre right handed), and point with your in-dex nger at eye level, as if someone just asked you

where the cups are. Your hand should be relaxed, andthe rest of your ngers should curve naturally into a

very loose st. Notice how your hand is not straight upand down, but instead is on a slant. Your index ngeris almost like the peak of a roof, and the top and sideof your hand are like uneven roof pitches. This is the

natural way that your hand will point, and so it is veryimportant to maintain this natural slant when grip-ping with one hand.

For a two handed grip, the gun should be held per-fectly vertical. Grip with your strong hand as tightlyas you would grip a hammer to drive a nail. Take noteof the way your hand looks on the gun. Your ngershould curl around the handle. On a small gun, yourngers may wrap completely around the handle and

touch your palm. On a larger gun, they may stop half-way around the handle. It really doesnt matter, justtake note of the way they look. Make sure your hand isin solid contact with the dove-tail (if there is one) andalso make sure that your middle nger is in contact

with the bottom of the trigger guard. Your thumb willmost likely curve down and naturally touch the end of

    your middle nger.

Now, bring your weak hand (non-trigger nger hand)into the picture. Your weak hand should conform per-fectly to your strong hand in the following ways:

Palms/Wrist: Your palms should touch at their base-not directly behind the handle, but at the side of the

back edge of it, so that if you were to shoot, the gunwould be pushed straight into the base of the palm on

    your strong hand.

Fingers: All four of your weak-hand ngers shouldlie on top of your three strong hand ngers (which aregripping the handle below the trigger guard). Thesefour weak-hand ngers should t nicely into the grovesformed between the three strong-hand ngers, and

your weak-hand pinkie will fall below your strong-

hand pinkie. If your handle is long enough, the weak-hand pinkie may contact the handle, or in the case of asmall gun, it may cup beneath the handle. Dependingon the gun, your weak-hand ngers may not wind upin the grooves of the strong-hand ngers, but may infact lie directly over them. Either way is acceptable- thegoal is stability.

Thumbs: The palm bases should contact each otherall the way up the side of the guns handle, but youMAY have to lift the thumb of your strong hand slightlyin order to accommodate the weak-hands thumb. The

weak-hands thumb will start almost where the strong-hands thumb ends, and I like to gently press my weak-hand thumb against the frame of the handgun for add-ed stability. (Note! If youre shooting a revolver, makesure that your weak-hand thumb is BEHIND the cylin-der. A LOT of gas and pressure escapes just forward ofthe cylinder, and it can burn you.)

Note how the hands support each other almost perfectly to form a rock-solid grip.

The second thing we need to establish isgrip-strength.

Take your handgun into your strong (trigger-nger)hand, and grip it how you usually do. Take note of howhard you are squeezing. Do you think your hand wouldever get tired? Perhaps youre gripping too hard. Do

you think it would be easy to pull the gun out of yourhand? Perhaps youre gripping too softly.

Remember this: Your grip on the handgun should

be about as rm as that of a solid hand-shake. If yourenot sure what that means, let me phrase it like this: Youshould grip your handgun with as much pressure as

you would grip a hammer to drive a normal sized nailinto a piece of wood.

If you grip too hard, the gun will shake badly, and it willbe difcult to press the trigger smoothly. If you grip too

weakly, you will have to re-adjust your grip after eachshot or two, as the gun will have a tendency to climbout of your hand due to the recoil. Too light a grip willalso cause feeding problems in automatics: the slidecan only cycle if the frame of the gun remains rela-tively stationary, and too light a grip will not providethe necessary stability to make this happen. If your gunfails to load a full casing into the chamber, or stove-pipes empty cases, this may be the problem- try grip-ping the gun more rmly.

Practice gripping with the rm handshake strengthwith one and two hands. Also remember that the stron-ger your ability to grip is, the better off you will be, soit may be worth your while to practice grip exercises

while driving and on your spare time. Get a spring-loaded grip builder, or wad up the daily newspaper inone hand before throwing them out.

Take special note of how the palms and thumbs lock together, and how the weak-hand thumb is beingused to add additional support to the frame of the handgun.

Important: For a two-handed grip, you should grip abit harder with your weak hand than with your strong(trigger nger) hand. Think of it like this: if both handstogether are applying 100% of the grip force on yourhandgun, your weak hand should account for about60% of that force, and your strong hand should ac-count for the remaining 40%. This is because when youpress the trigger, the harder youre gripping with yourstrong-hand, the more the gun will move.

What Ive just described is the ideal two handed grip, but you may have to experiment to see what works bestfor you. Ideally, wed all carry the guns that we can gripthe most comfortably, but sometimes we have to deal

    with what we have.

If shooting is uncomfortable, or if the gun is recoilingexcessively, your grip is the problem. Practice the prop-

er grip, and work on wrist strength, and grip strengthexercises.

Note how the weak-handngers lock comfortably over

    the strong-hand ngers.

How To Improve Your Shooting Accuracy In One Evening

    Section 3Trigger Control: Blast Off.

It is important to understand that 90% of your accu-racy-killing movement is going to take place DURINGthe trigger press, so this is crucial. The more rock-solid

your grip is, the easier its going to be to master yourtrigger press, and the smoother and more intentional

your trigger press, the less perfect your grip has to be.Master both the grip and the press, and you will haveOlympic teams calling you, begging you to come shootfor them.

Let me deviate and explain why Imsaying trigger press instead oftrigger pull. I think its important,

because were all taught that youpull the trigger of a gun to make itgo off. Heres the problem: We alsopull stuck doors open. We PULLteeth out. We PULL ourselves upicy slopes with ropes. Such a bruteaction should never be used to de-scribe what needs to take place inregards to your trigger when trying

    to perform an accurate shot.

Instead, we say that you mustPRESS your trigger. While you canpress hard on things, press generally describes a muchmore controlled action, as if youre applying the exactamount of force needed to make the gun go boom, andno more. Youre not pulling or pushing your trigger-

    youre pressing it.

One of the most common problems that people have

is that they inch the trigger. A inch describes anyaction other than a smooth, uid like trigger press. Ainch can be done unconsciously as your bodys reac-tion to the expected recoil, or in a conscious effort tomake the gun go bang during the exact second that

your sights are on your target. Both of these need toSTOP in order to boost your accuracy, and I will talkabout how to eliminate inching altogether in section

four of this report- is can be done, quite easily. Firsthowever, you must learn the proper way to press thetrigger of your gun. Remember: It all begins with theperfect grip, so make sure that youve established theprincipals from section two.

Learn the Stages: Next, you must master the stages ofyour trigger. You need to know what is slack in your

trigger- this is the rst stage. Thenat some point during the press, the

trigger will stiffen slightly- this isstage two. At this point, any morepressure will cause your gun to re.How will you learn these stages? The answer is Dry re. Contrary topopular belief, dry most certainlydoes not hurt the ring pin or mech-anism in 99% of modern guns. Soensure that your gun is empty, anddry-re it until you are certain that

you know these two stages (youlllearn more about how to dry re in

    the next section).

An accurate trigger press will beconsistent and uid like. You can

hit targets in many ways, but to group your shotsclosely together, logic dictates that you must do thingsthe same each time. 2+2 always equals four. There-fore, if you hold your gun with the exact same amountof pressure, in the exact same way, and perform theexact same trigger press each time- your shots willtravel the exact same path.

An accurate trigger press is accomplished with all theforce being straight back- its easy to pull slightly toone side without realizing it. If your shots are hittingdirectly left or right of the point of aim, you may bepushing or pulling the trigger in a direction other thanstraight back into the gun.

    Remember!Smooth is fast.Practice FORM,

and you willbecome fast asform becomes

    trivial.

Remember- smooth is fast. Practice form, and you willnaturally become fast as the form becomes trivial. Yournger can contact the trigger at either the pad of yournger print, or if its too stiff (or if your nger is toolong) you can use the rst joint of your nger to pressthe trigger. Again, the important thing is that the forceis applied in a perfect line toward the rear of the gun.

The perfect trigger press is as follows: With a solidgrip, remove your nger from the frame of the gun andslowly bring it down to contact the trigger. Im going toassume that your gun is in ready to re mode, and that

youve decided that you do indeed want to re a shot.

With your nger on the trigger, stare at your front sight.Your target will be somewhat blurry in the back-groundas you focus (with both eyes open) on your front sight.

Your front sight will tremble slightly against the im-

age of your target, as you focus on it. A tiny tremble orwobble is tolerable, as these wobbles are barely a quar-ter of a degree off axis, and will only change your pointof impact by an inch per ten yards, max.

Now, smoothly press your trigger to stage two, andpause. Did your front sight wobble excessively duringthe press? It shouldnt wobble any more than normal. The most likely scenario is that the pressing of the trig-ger torques the handgun toward your weak-hand. Thisis because you are pressing the trigger with more forcethan you are gripping the gun with. Simply increase

your grip force on the handgun, or if you must, beginbuilding your grip by exercising as mentioned in sec-tion two.

Once you have stage one mastered, proceed throughstage two and dry-re your pistol. When the hammer(internal or external) fell and you heard the click!,did you notice your front sight wobble, or jerk to theleft or right at all? If so, your shot would have beenanywhere from 6 to 26 inches off target. Remember- itonly take a fraction of an inchs inch to throw a shot

WAY off target. Practice your trigger press until thereis no movement in your front sight.

This carries us perfectly into section four.

Note how this man naturally moves the trigger to his rst joint, to compensate for the small sizeof the cap-gun he is holding. You may need to do this with your carry gun.

How To Improve Your Shooting Accuracy In One Evening

    Section 4Practice to Perfection.

The key to improving your handgun accuracy is sim-ple, and requires that you re ZERO live rounds of am-munition. Its a little trick that I like to call dry repractice. Using the principals outlined above regard-ing grip and trigger control- even for just ten minutes

before you go to sleep tonight- you will improve yourability to hit well with your handgun. Dry-Fire practice

before you sleep every night for ve or ten minutes fora month, and you will become a whole new shooter.

Now, you must understand one thing: dry ring mostmodern pistols does not hurt them. If you shoot aGLOCK, a 1911, a Kel-Tec, a Walther, a Ruger, a Smithand Wesson none of these are harmed by dry ring. If

you are unsure about your gun, you may ask someoneat a gun store, or try going to google and searching for

your model plus the words dry re safe?, or joiningone of the many re-arm related online forums, andasking the people there.

So what is dry re practice? To dry-re, is to gothrough the motions of regular live-re practice, ex-cept you dont put any ammunition into your gun. Fora double-action revolver or automatic, you just keeppulling the trigger on an empty chamber. For a single-action revolver or automatic, you just cock the hammerand squeeze, and for a GLOCK or other striker retype design, just cycle the action after every dry-re.

During your dry re sessions, focus on your front sight.Learn to keep your sight picture relatively clear whilestill focusing on the front sight, with both eyes open. This will allow you to keep your front sight on target,

while eliminating as much wobble as possible.

After your trigger press, focus on keeping the triggerpulled for a split-second; long enough to register that

youve pulled your trigger and caused a shot, and that your front sight is still on target. The goal here is toreinforce the proper follow-through. The wrong way

would be to instantly let go of your gun with your weak

hand as you reach to cock the gun the instant the ham-mer falls. This will reinforce all the bad movements.

Ideally, you should stand in front of a safe back-stopwhen you dry re practice- just in case.

Follow through both stages of the re sequence, ex-actly how you would if you were actually shooting. Theobvious goals are two get used to following through

with your shot while maintaining your solid grip, and

of course executing a perfect, smooth trigger press.

The secret advantage of this, is that you are trainingyour subconscious to NOT anticipate the recoil of yourhandgun.

    A NOTE ABOUTMENTAL CONDITIONING

In the same way that Ivan Pavlov discovered

that you could teach dogs to drool in antici-pation of having their food delivered, shootinghandguns teaches your brain to anticipatethe recoil. Without even realizing that itshappening, you will begin to inch when thehammer falls- destroying your ability to shoothighly accurately.

Classical Conditioning works both ways,though- you can also teach your brain to for-get the inch through dry re practice.

The mind games dont stop there, either! Youcan use similar methods to program yourmind to react to all sorts of things, such asmoving off the x while drawing, and to clearyour handgun in the event of a jam or misre.

If the only times you ever press your trigger, you feela sharp jerk and an incredibly loud noise, you will de-

velop a physical reaction I almost guarantee it. How-ever, if more often than not a press of a trigger resultsin nothing but a click, and with you focusing sharplyon your front sight, your body and mind will forget allabout the recoil and the BANG. This may not seem likea huge advantage, but if you do ve or ten minutes ofdry re practice each night, the degree of advantageof this conditioning will become apparent- even after

just one night. Some pros say that you should be dryring 100 times for every live-shot you re. This shouldmake sense, now that weve talked about the condition-ing aspect of dry re practice.

If you want to put yourself to a test, try balancing some-thing on top of your gun as you dry re. I rememberthe rst time that I set an empty casing on top of my

GLOCK, it fell long before I ever got to stage two of thetrigger press.

No wonder I was shooting poorly! Now, I am able tobalance a penny on my front sight without having it falloff.Practice your grip and trigger press for ten minutes, and then go to the range and run a few magazinesthrough your pistol, or a few speed loaders through

your revolver. You will be amazed at how drasticallyyour accuracy improves.

Do this a few times per week, and in two months time, you will be shooting at a level that you may never havethought possible. Best of all, this control and skill willtranslate to ALL forms of shooting, whether youreshooting while moving (to avoid getting shot), shoot-ing one handed, or shooting at longer ranges.

    - page 11 -

Practice Makes Perfect- And now you dont even need to re a shot!

ConclusionThis is just the tip of the iceberg...

What youve just read WILL boost your handgun accu-racy, and I hope you put these principals into practicetoday.

    Thank you, Armed American.

At the United States Concealed Carry Association, we believe strongly in the importance of not only beingarmed, but being effectively armed. We believe that if
