Two Methods to use

1: Connect the casing directly to the suction
Inlet of the pump
2: Install a suction pipe inside the casing, connect the suction pipe to the inlet of the pump and install a non return valve.

Pump Suction directly connected to the screen rising main.Rising main or casing is connected to the screen, when using this method insure the following.
How To1- All joints must be air tight.
2- Any small air leeks will not allow the pump to prime.
3- Rising main or casing should be of similar size as the pump inlet.

How To1- The pump has to prime itself every time, not reliable.
2- The rising main is a lot larger than the pump inlet.
3 - If foot valve is fitted, how can you clean it? If it leaks.

Solution 2 Recommended

Highly recommend, -as it has a foot valve, therefore the pump is fully primed at all times.

If any sand build in the foot valve the suction line can be pulled out and the foot valve on the bottom can be cleaned and easily reinstalled.

The suction line is a standard poly line pipe approx 25-32mm, with a non return valve fitted at the bottom.the advantages of this installation is-

2- Easy Installation and removal.
3 - Non return valve easily removed and cleaned.
How To4 - Rising main pipe diameter is more aligned with the suction side of the pump, making it more efficient.
5 - Easy access to the screen if it needs cleaning or removal.
