How To Install FastCAM On To A New Computer

IMPORTANT

This document contains information on how to install FastCAM on to a new computer and

copy over existing setup files from a different computer.

This is a crucial step in making sure FastCAM produces the same expected results as it did on

the older computer.

PLEASE READ CARFULLY

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE FASTCAM BACKUP UTILITY AND INSTALL ON TO YOUR OLD COMPUTER

AND YOUR NEW COMPUTER

INSTALL FASTCAM ON TO YOUR NEW COMPUTER USING THE NEW INSTALLATION DISCS PROVIDED.

We are now ready to begin the process of copying our set-up files from our old computer

that was using FastCAM to our new computer that has recently had FastCAM installed with

the latest version.

Instructions:

To begin with we will be using your old computer first.

1. Find and open the FastCAM backup utility.

Once open you will see the screen above.

2. Click configure settings and copy the selected settings below.

3. Next we want to use the programme to copy our FastCAM settings. Click the Backup button.


4. The FastCAM Backup utility will now look for all of your setup files on your old computer and

collect them together and add them to a zip file ready.

To view the view the location of the zip file click Show File.

The zip file can now be added to your company network where possible you have a shared folder or

you can move the file to a USB memory stick.

We are now ready to move to your new computer.

5. FastCAM should already be installed on to your computer along with the FastCAM backup utility,

if not please do so now.

We will also have ready the shared folder that is located on your network or the USB memory

stick containing you backup zip file. (Refer to instruction 4)

6. Find and open the FastCAM backup utility.


7. Click on the Restore button.

8. You will now want to use the open box to search for your saved zip file.

9. Click open zip file. Next you will want click’ Apply to All Files’ and say yes to ‘overwrite existing

files’.


The backup utility will now restore all of you previous FastCAM files onto your new computer.

Your new computer will now be installed with your existing FastCAM setup files.
