are often inexperienced

rapidly changing behaviors and
needs of dementia patients
Challenging Behaviours
• Repeated calls & contacts
• Making up stories or memories
• Making 911 calls when there is
nothing wrong
• Keep “losing” important things
Challenging Behaviours
• Mix-up between day & night
due to upset in the internal
biological clock
• Sundowning
• Shadowing
• Wandering, getting lost
• Undressing in inappropriate situations
or at public places
• Easily become agitated or moody
• Swear and curse more frequently,
often strike out at others
• Etc.

Dementia is a very individualistic condition
not all dementia patients will go through
the same symptoms
