• Before you learn how to start a beauty salon, you need to earn a beautician license

• Earn a certificate of completion and successfully pass a licensing exam to earn a beautician license.

Develop a Business Plan

• operating costs • startup costs• advertising needs• staff requirements• marketing strategy

Figure out needed money

• Come up with an operating budget.• Figure out how much you'll charge for

services.• Decide if you need a small business loan• Figure out how you'll pay taxes.

Choose the right location

• Get into a high-traffic area• Try to have easy access• Stay away from the competition

Know your workers

• Hire qualified and trained personnel• Give brief instructions so co workers can easily

complete what their suppose to

Create a clean and safe atmosphere

• Be sure your towels, foot baths, and other equipment's are washed, clean and odor-free

• Keep your tools sharp and current• Make the atmosphere relaxing• Ex: Play soft music, use gentle lighting and

keep loud chatter between your employees at a minimum.

Keep your clients satisfied

• Word can easily spread about the great look and outstanding personal service that your salon provides
