Add the salt and baking powder, and mix them together. 3 Ask a grown-up to help you cut the butte into cubes. Add the butter to the rest of the mixture and use your fingers to rub it all together until the mixture looks like fine crumbs. 4 Add the caster sugar. 5 Ask a grown-up to warm the milk in the microwave (around 30 seconds on full power should be long enough). 6 Ask a grown-up to place the baking tray into the oven to get it warm. 7 Make a well in the middle of your mixture, add the warm milk and use a metal knife to stir it in quickly. 8 Spread some flour on to your work surface and tip out the dough. Sprinkle a little more flour on top of the dough. 9 Pat the dough flat with your hands and fold over two to three times until the dough looks smoother, then roll it out till it’s around 4cm deep. 10 Use the pastry cutter to cut out your scones and repeat until you’ve used up your dough. How to Make Scones

1 Ask a grown-up to turn on the oven and set it to 200ºC (gas mark 7).
