HOW CAN I SELL ON AMAZON, SNAPDEAL, SHOPCLUES, PAYTM….

These websites act like a marketplace, where sellers can list their products for selling and buyers can buy them.

Here is the general step by step process, as to how you can sell your products or any product online:

1. VAT & CST Registration Number: Since all these websites are highly regulated, the first thing they will ask you is your TIN number and CST number. You need to obtain these from the government authorities in case you are planning to list yourself as a seller on any of these websites.

2. PAN Number: All these websites will ask you for your Permanent Account Number i.e. PAN Number, when you will apply for registration with them. PAN number can easily obtained from the online portal of Income Tax Department and you can also track the status of your application status online. DIGITAL INDIA BENEFITS!! .

3. Bank Account (Current Account): Since you will be receiving all the payments directly into your bank account be it a cash on delivery sale, you need to provide them with your bank account details at the time of registration. These websites will never pay you in cash for the products you sell on them. The bank account should preferably be a current account and should be registered at your company’s address. Websites like amazon and shopclues are a bit liberal in this aspect and also accept a savings account number whereas snapdeal will always ask for current account number.

As far as registering as a seller on these websites is concerned, you only need to perform the above mentioned 3 process. Now all these websites have simple but different process to list the products online, most of them will take suitable time to review the pictures and details of your products and check for any hazardous product. This process might take from 1-15 days and may vary from website to website.

Till this process i.e. listing yourself on these website, none of the websites is charging any fees as of now.

All these websites charge you different amount of referral fees when you receive an order, depending upon the product you are selling. Next Step: Packing the order

The order shall be packed in such a manner that it does not gets damaged in transit, because if the customer returns the product, you will not only have to bear the damage loss and sale loss but also the return shipping cost. The packing shall be done in the packing material which has the branding of the website on which you are selling the product (which is costly) or you can use non-branded packaging material. It is the seller who bears the cost of packaging material, the website does not provide you the packing material for free.

These websites also provide you shipping services at flat rates across India. You just need to pack the order and inform them, their logistics team will pick up the order from your registered address.
