Setting up your profile & page(s)One of the first things you do when you come to bandplanet is to set up your profile and if needed a page or several pages depending on your activities. Every bandplanet member is identified by a personal profile page. This is your personal presentation as a musician, music fan or professional. Pages are meant as presentation of your band or music related business like shops, services, venues etc.

Setting up your profile & page(s)Why is a Good and Appealing Profile Important for you?Your personal bandplanet profile or page(s) will act as a mode of communication between you and your fans, friends or followers. You need a profile or a page if you want that people are interested in your music, band, topic etc. As social networking has become popular today it's important to be able to present yourself in a way that interests people and keep them wanting to know or hear more from you.

Your profile is an important promotional tool for you.If you want to stand out of the crowd, you have to create an outstanding profile or page. Making a good profile is an excellent way to attract people to your music, band, topic, business or website, and find like minded people to form a networking community around you.

On the following pages you will find out how to start and what you can put on your Profile and Page(s) to make them attractive & interesting.

While your registration process you at the same time fill in the basic information for your personal profile and first page. It is very important for you that understand that you can set up additional pages for your band, services, venues, shops etc. later!! Step 1 = Fill in your Basic PERSONAL Information

•Who are you? Your name, upload a nice photo with very good resolution is needed and a short info (2 -3 lines)•What do you do? Are you a musician, music fan or professional, etc. •What are your interests and favorite activities? Do you enjoy your band, music, sports, dance, tv shows/movies, blogging, or current events?•Why are you on bandplanet? Who do you hope to meet or what are you looking for?•What makes you special? Hey, everyone is unique, so there has to be something unique about you that makes you so interesting Most of this information will go into the "about" section on you profile.

If you do not have a band, service, venue, shop etc. then you can skip this point.

If you have a band, service, venue, shop etc. and do not have the time to set up a nice and appealing page at the moment, skip this part and do it later.

Now you can edit your profile and page(s) by clicking manage profile and you can add information's about you, music etc. by clicking manage music.

When this is done you have completed your first step to success with bandplanet.

IntroductionRemember - people look at profiles all the time... you most probably do that too! The trick is to keep your profile or page visitors and followers engaged and interested in what you are doing. Profiles are here to describe you but you should always try to stay positive when you are creating your profile.

Your profile acts as a resume, you are trying to sell the good stuff about you to make new friends, fans and clients. You need to let your personality shine through let people know that you are an individual, musician, band or business person worth reading about.

If you still have trouble trying to figure out something interesting to say following some ideas:

Try answering an interesting question instead. As you have an area in your profile or page to add whatever text you like, try answering some of these fun questions:

•If you had to eat the same three meals for the rest of your life, what would they be?•What is the most fun thing you have ever done?•How often do you check your email?

Introduction• Do you remember the last time you were really happy?• Do you exercise? If so, are you working toward any goals for yourself?• Describe your perfect Saturday.• What is your favorite feature on bandplanet?• What is the most recent compliment someone gave you?

This is just a short list of examples of questions to ask yourself to give you a little push when writing your profile. Try to be captivating and make your visitors feel like they're really getting to know you!
