How to simulate using PSPICE at Uconn ECE

Anas Mazady

1. Go to skybox.uconn.edu and install the software

2. Run the software. Type view.vpc.uconn.edu in the connection server field. Click Connect.

3. Choose ENGR_STUDENT from the domain list. Login using your Net ID and password. Click Connect in

the next screen.

4. Once logged in to the Skybox desktop, click start > CAD > Cadence > Release 16.5. Click

OrCAD Capture CIS.

5. Choose Allergo PCB Design CIS L from the list and click OK

6. Create a new project

7. Choose the radio button Analog or Mixed A/D. Name the project and browse to your network

directory h:// where you want to save the simulations.

8. Choose the radio button Create based upon an existing project and click OK.

Add Component Library

The libraries that you would mostly need include: analog.olb, source.olb, bipolar.olb,

jfet.olb, drlngtn.olb etc.

Simulating Your Circuit and Final Output

1. Finish drawing the circuit. Make sure you specify the ground node of your circuit. Simulate using the “Play

button”.

2. In the plot window click Tools > Options and change the background color from black to white or some

light color.

3. Add traces to your plot and you should have nice figures ready to be printed out. Print your results by

clicking File > Print.
