How to

Teach Like Jesus

1

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing

them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of

the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I

have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,

to the very end of the age.

Mathew 28:19-20

2

1. Teach for the future.

3

And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him

and said, "You are Simon son of John. You will be

called Cephas" (which, when translated, is Peter).

John 1:42

4

2. Teach with timing.

5

”I have many more things to say to you, but you

cannot bear them now.” John 16:12

6

3. Teach for thinking.

7

"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred

sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not

leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for

the one that wandered off?

Matthew 18:12

8

But now we have been discharged from the law, having

died to that wherein we were holden; so that we serve in

newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

Romans 7:6 ASV

9

4. Teach by asking questions.

10

After three days they found him in the temple

courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them

and asking them questions. Everyone who heard

him was amazed at his understanding and his

answers. Luke 2:46-47

11

5. Teach using common objects.

12

6. Teach as a servant.

13

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be

served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom

for many.” Mark 10:45

14

7. Teach with curiosity.

15

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with

his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he

straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who

is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he

stooped down and wrote on the ground. John 8:6-8

16

8. Teach with silence.

17

For the word of God is living and active and sharper

than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as

the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and

marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and

intentions of the heart. Heb. 4:12 NAS
