We added text to the footage of the expert interviews. We were not too sure how to do this so we asked our media teacher Mike for some help. Mike helped us to do this and showed up these different steps to do this in, they were:

1. Open the Viewer window by choosing Window --> Viewer from the main menu.

2. Click the Effects tab in the Browser window.

3. Twirl down the small triangle next to the Video Generators bin, and open the Text sub-bin, which contains the text generators.

4. Double-click the generator named Text (which looks like a small clip with some color bars on it) to open it in the Viewer. After you open the Text generator in the Viewer, you can see white text that reads SAMPLE TEXT on the Viewer's Video tab; the Viewer window also sports a new tab titled Controls.

6) Drag this to the timeline

We found this very easy to do and we have used this for all our expert interviews. We have also used this when we have wrote quotes on the footage such as facts and figures. We then learnt how to change the font colour which I feel has made our documentary look more professional.
