The constant change in technology and how we cope with it
A flipbook by Kiraseya Preusser

… but now we can remember everything
![Page 4: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)

… or can it be used to strengthen our minds?
![Page 6: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
“stop listening to our senses and start obeying the clock”
1462

… don’t we use time as a control to synchronize our lives?
![Page 8: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
“Are cell phones making us anti-social?”
“Fauxting – pretending to text for the sake of just avoiding other people and
conversation.”
1973
![Page 9: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
… have we ever been this connected?
![Page 10: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
“’Pancake people’ – spread wide and thin as we connect with that
vast network of information” – Richard Foreman
1989
![Page 11: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
But maybe we can treat it as a new skill to add to our repertoire or as new tool to aid us
![Page 12: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Alone …
![Page 13: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
… or together?
![Page 14: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
So when asked these questions, like: Does Google make us stupid?
![Page 15: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Or: Does Facebook make us lonely?
![Page 16: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Shouldn’t we see Google as a tool?
![Page 17: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Or Facebook as our network?
![Page 18: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Maybe the answer is in how we treat the technology. Anything can be treated as an addiction.
![Page 19: How we cope with changing technology](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062514/5592c3b81a28abd10f8b4690/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
But if we find balance and ways to use these tools to
our advantage we can avoid the addiction

“Change can be scary, but you know what’s scarier? Allowing fear to stop you
from growing, evolving and progressing.” – Many Hale
