QUICK FACTS:

• Natural gas operations are conducted under Queensland Government approved leases and environmental authorities.

• The Land Access Code provides mandatory conditions for companies while operating on private properties.

• Staff and contractors must abide by land access, road and safety rules.

The Queensland Government has developed a Land Access Code which includes mandatory conditions we must follow when we operate on your property.

In line with these conditions, we conduct negotiations in good faith and recognise that our business is fundamentally linked to developing a strong working relationship with you.

We agree access rules for construction and operation with you, as part of the negotiation process. All our staff and constructors must follow these rules. Access Rules include conditions for:

We are committed to preventing harm to employees, contractors, local communities and the environment. All staff and contractors are required to follow 12 Life-Saving Rules.

Shell’s QGC business uses in-vehicle monitoring systems (IVMS) to ensure safety and compliance with all road rules. IVMS monitors for: • adherence to speed limits• safe driving practices such as harsh breaking • the use of seatbelts • two-hourly rest stops.

ROAD AND TRAFFIC SAFETYOn private property, special speed limits apply for QGC vehicles to minimise dust, noise and ensure safe passing:

• 20 km/hr within 200 metres of dwellings

• 40 km/hr elsewhere on rural residential properties.
