Pinterest is a virtual bulletin board or collage of imagery found on the internet.

• Pinterest lets you easily organize and share images bytopic. All pins are completely public and are a fun wayto share new things and get inspiration from people whoshare your common interests.
• People use pinboards to plan their weddings or othersocial events, decorate their homes, and organize theirfavorite recipes.
• Pinterest crosses other social media platforms. Memberscan comment, repin, like and share pins on Facebook,Twitter or via e-mail.

Common Terminology•Pin – an image added to Pinterest.
•Pinboardorjust“board” – a set of theme based pins.
•Pinning – the act of creating or sharing visual content onthe Pinterest website.
•Repin– To repost previously pinned content on Pinterest.
•Hashtag - a word or phrase preceded by a hash mark (#).When used within a message on a website or social mediasite, it helps identify a keyword or topic of interest andfacilitate a search for it.
Please note that imagery shown in this tutorial is from accessing the Pinterest website on a computer. Pinterest does have a mobile app which appears and operates slightly differently.

How do I get started on ?• Pinterest is currently invite-only. You can request an
invitation from Pinterest or you can be invited by acurrent member of Pinterest.
• When you receive an invitation, you must register via aFacebook or Twitter account.
• Please note that you are not able to link Pinterestaccounts to business Facebook accounts. We suggestlinking your Pinterest to your business Twitter account.

Now that I have a account, what do I do next?
• Become familiar with the Terms of Service,especially focusing on the content andcopyright section.
• As a business, you don’t want to exposeyourself legally to copyright infringement issues.
• Learn about basic Pin Etiquette.
• Start browsing. Research topics that arerelated to your business such as; weddings,invitations, parties, printing or even yourcompany name.

Now that I have a account, what do I do next?
• Manage your account settings toadd a website (URL) address to yourPinterest account.
• Add a short company description andupload a logo or photo.
• Link your business Twitter account. If you don’thave have a Twitter account for your business,consider creating one.
• Please remember that you will not be able tolink Facebook business accounts at this time, sowithout a Twitter account you would need to linkyour personal Facebook account.

How do I create a board?• Every Pinterest account comes with default boards.
This will show you how to create your own board.
• First, in the upper portion of your Pinterest page, you willsee the below bar. Click on the “Add +” button.
• This box will appear, clickon “Create a Board.”

• Enter a name for yourboard.
• Select the categorythat best describes what will be pinned on this board.
• If you want anotherperson to be able to pin to this board, enter their name where it says “Add another pinner.”
Your board has now been created and you can start pinning to it.

Click on your name in the upper right hand corner to navigate back to your Pinterest page. Here you will see your new and existing boards.
Your boards will appear here.
How do I pin?There are multiple ways to pin an image. You can click on the “Add +” button at the top of the page to manually add or upload an image.
The below box will appear, click on “Add a Pin.”
But…there are two,much easier and morefun ways to pin.

RepinRepining an image from another user is the easiest way to pin.
Simply:
1. Verify that the image you want to pin is properly linked.
2. Click the Repin button on an image.
3. Select your board that you want the image pinned to.
4. Enter a description.
5. Click “Pin It.”

Pin it browser buttonWe’ve found that the easiest way to pin an image from a website is to use the “Pin It” browser button.
You can download the button on your Pinterest page by hovering on the word “About” and clicking on the “Pin It Button” on the drop down menu that appears.

Pinterest directions on how to add the button to your internet browser toolbar are very simple to follow.

Now that you have added the Pin It button to your toolbar, it is very easy to pin any image you find on the internet to your Pinterest website.
When pinning from the internet, keep in mind:
• Pin from original sources.
• Pin from permalinks.
• Be aware of any copyright issues and give credit forcontent.
• Be descriptive of your pins with hashtags (#), links towebsites, dollar amounts ($) or label people (@).

• Select your board thatyou want the imagepinned to.
• Enter a description.(don’t forget to usehashtags and prices ifyou want.)
• Click “Pin It.”
• Note: you can alsopublish this pin to yourlinked Twitter and/orFacebook accounts.
