Did you know that a lot of the problems that people come to consult us about and want a
session or so of hypnotherapy can often be caused by poor sleep
patterns?

Bad sleep and stress reinforce each other in a vicious cycle that often sends people spinning out
into worse problems.

The cycle works like this: you’re feeling a bit stressed from work and these worries decided to get into bed with you and you get a
bad night’s sleep.

Alternatively, you get into a pattern of late nights.
Either way, you end up with not enough sleep and then you feel
drained and out of energy.

But you still have to meet those deadlines and those targets. So
you push yourself a bit harder and wear yourself out even more.

Then you start worrying about not being able to perform at
work, so you end up lying awake stressing about it – or staying up
late to finish a project.

Which makes you even more tired. When you’re tired, you get
more irritable and tearful and generally on edge, which makes the problem even worse and can
cause some new ones.

And so it goes on until you
crash and burn into depression
or worse.

What makes it even worse is that you can end up worrying that
you’re not sleeping and that very worry stops you from sleeping –
and on it goes.

And just to put the lid on the problems caused by bad sleep, if you don’t get enough sleep, this will affect your metabolism and make it easier for you to put on
the kilos.

Grief, stress and problems with nightmares can all hinder good
sleep.
