2 The Hyper-V host quiesces the VM applications and requests a snapshot of the VSA volumes.

3 The HP StoreVirtual VSA creates the application aware snapshots.

4 Snapshots are mounted to the offhost backup proxy.

5 The Veeam transport service on the offhost backup proxy processes the backup data and copies it to the StoreOnce device.

6 Upon completion of the backup job, the snapshot is unmounted and deleted.

Dataflow of Veeam recovery from StoreOnce and StoreEver• Veeam backups up the VM

image(s) to a backup repository in a folder with the name of the backup job

• An additional scheduled job archives (copies) the Veeam backups to Media Sets pulled from Media Pools of tape

• For restores Veeam will load the required tape(s) and copy the Veeam backup file(s) to the backup repository; and for VM restores, restore the VM automatically

• Once the restore is complete Veeam will delete the copied backup file from the repository
