Thousand Oaks Pathology Associates (TOPA) is pleased to announce the availability of HPV testing, performed in-house at TOPA. TOPA utilizes the FDA-approved Cervista assay, a signal amplification DNA assay for the detection of high-risk HPV. The advantages of the Cervista assay over other HPV assays include:
1. Increased specificity, with comparable sensitivity. 2. Detection of a broader range of high-risk HPV types, and less
cross-reactivity with low-risk types. 3. Smaller specimen requirement. 4. Quantitation of human genomic DNA, as an internal standard,
to confirm specimen adequacy.
