    Employee Recognition and Awards Program

    Scope: Regular, benefitedemployees (those eligible for benefits, retirement, leae! and part"time fa#ulty, other than $%e#uties and &resident's oun#il members, are eligible to be

    nominated and may nominate other permanent employees or part"time fa#ulty members. )he

    #ollege stries to re*ard indiiduals and groups for the a#hieements *hi#h reinfor#e the#ollege's ob+e#ties for student learning, performan#e improement and fa#ulty and staff

    deelopment.

    Definition: )his poli#y des#ribes the $mployee Re#ognition and *ards &rogram that is#elebrated t*i#e annually. $mployees are re#ogni-ed for signifi#ant #ollegeor +ob"related

    #ontributions in the areas defined belo*.

    The College/Community Service Award: Re#ogni-es substantial #ollege or +ob"related

    olunteer seri#es internal to the #ollege or in the #ommunity (i.e. tutoring, speaing

    engagements, adising student groups/#lubs, #ommunity organi-ations!.

    The Customer Service Award: Re#ogni-es dedi#ation to uality seri#e and #ustomer

    satisfa#tion for internal and/or e%ternal #ustomers.

    The Etra !ile Award: Re#ogni-es a substantial #ontribution to the #ollege for an e%tended

    period (i.e. performing additional duties of a substantial nature!.

    The "nnovator Award: Re#ogni-es effi#ien#ies that sae the #ollege substantial money or

    *or ideas that result in improed edu#ational e%perien#es for students, in#reasing

    oerall employee performan#e and fa#ulty and staff deelopment or ideas that leadthe #ollege in a ne* dire#tion.

    The President#s Award: Re#ogni-es a##omplishments that moe the #ollege for*ard in itsstrategi# dire#tion (i.e. #ompletion of strategi# #ollege ob+e#ties!.

    The $eadership Award: Re#ogni-es an indiidual fa#ulty or staff member *ho has appliedstrong leadership sills to the su##ess of a #urri#ular pro+e#t, #ommittee responsibility,

    administratie pro+e#t, or ma+or #ollege a#tiity.

    The "nnovative Teaching Award: Re#ogni-es an indiidual fa#ulty member *ho has

    improed the edu#ational e%perien#es for students and has moed the #ollege for*ard in astrategi# dire#tion.

    The Professional %oal Attainment Award: Re#ogni-es an indiidual fa#ulty or staff

    member *ho has a#hieed a +ob"related edu#ational or professional goal su#h as

    #ompleting a formal program of study or to earning an industry"re#ogni-ed #ertifi#ation.()hisa*ard does not #oney a monetary alue.!

    Policy: 3y re#ogni-ing the truly signifi#ant #ontributions of its employees, the #ollegeendeaors to build and maintain a highly motiated *orfor#e, redu#e employee turnoer, and

    #ontribute to employee +ob satisfa#tion. ominations may be submitted for indiiduals orgroups. roups or indiiduals may be nominated for more than one #ategory proided there

    are separate nominations supporting ea#h a*ard. ontingent on aailability of funds, the

    #ollege authori-es a budget for the $mployee Re#ognition and *ards &rogram in a##ordan#e*ith the follo*ing pro#edures.

    Procedures:

    1. )he $mployee Relations/ )rainingoordinator announ#es the $mployee Re#ognition

    &rogram t*i#e annually andposts the deadline for submission of nominations.

    2. Regular, benefited employees and part"time fa#ulty (other than $%e#uties and&resident's oun#il members! are eligible to be nominated and may (in#luding$%e#uties and &resident's oun#il members! nominate other permanent employees or

    part"time fa#ulty members. $mployees eligible for the &rofessional oal ttainment

    *ard may be re#ogni-ed by #ompleting the nomination form and for*arding it to the

    $mployee Relations/)raining oordinator.

    6. )he $mployee Relations/)rainingoordinatoroersees the administration of the

    $mployee Re#ognition and *ards &rogram and is adisor to the #ommittee.

    4. )he #ommittee, sele#ted by the adisor, *ill #onsist of four members representing

    e%e#utie, fa#ulty, staff, and department #hair/dire#tors. 7embership *ill be rotatedeery three years. onsideration *ill be gien to representation from all #ampuses.

    5. 3ased on guidan#e proided by the adisor, the #ommittee *ill establish standards for

    reie*, a##eptan#e, and rating of nominations and re#ommend gift#ertifi#ates/monetary a*ard(s! based on budget aailability. nformation about raning

    of the re#ipients *ill be held #onfidential.

    9. )he &resident's oun#il may proide feedba# on the #ommittee's a*ard

    re#ommendations.

    . )he adisor *ill arrange for #ertifi#atesand a*ards for presentation.

    8. )he &resident *ill present the employee re#ognition #ertifi#ates.
