JD – HR Officer 2011 11 21 LONDON TRAVELWATCH JOB DESCRIPTION Job title: HR Officer Grade: Grade 4 Reporting to: CEO Staff manager: None Finance managed: tbc Job Purpose To assist London TravelWatch in effectively delivering consistent, fair and legally compliant HR practices which support the organisation and individuals in continually developing performance. Key Tasks and Responsibilities 1. Provide advice and guidance to LTW staff and Board on HR management issues 2. Monitor changes in employment legislation, advise the management team on any relevant changes and ensure that LTW’s HR policies reflect an up to date situation, are relevant and adhered to 3. Maintain an overview of LTW’s performance management process to ensure that it works effectively and helps to secure organisational development objectives 4. Oversee the recruitment process, advising managers on job descriptions, accuracy and content of advertisements, advertising placement, application processing, selection and reference taking. 5. Provide advice to managers in planning and during induction for new employees 6. Oversee training and development activity, ensuring alignment with needs identified, budgets and organisation strategy. Maintain a process of training evaluation to ensure that development activity meets learning needs. 7. Maintain an overview of sickness and absence management and relationships with occupational health providers 8. Manage Board Member files. 9. Assist with payroll and pension administration 10. Prepare quarterly reports and statistics for the Governance Committee, annual statistics for the GLA and maintain an overview of compliance. Job Objectives To be agreed annually, clarifying the emphasis to be placed on specific areas of job accountability or organisation development
