great community leader and contributor as an HRCA Delegate and member of the
Highlands Ranch Historical Society. He will be missed.
WILDLIFe MANAgeMeNT PLAN CONTINUeS – elk hunting in the Backcountry
Wilderness Area began in 2002 under Shea Homes as a necessary vehicle to manage
the ever-growing elk herd. As the new stewards of the land, under the advisement
of Colorado Division of Wildlife, HRCA plans to continue and refine this wildlife
management plan.
The HRCA will hold informational meetings regarding the Wildlife Management elk
Hunt Plan in June at the Recreation Center at eastridge. Look for those dates and
additonal information on our web site.
SCHOLARSHIP FUND – We were honored to celebrate the recognition of 25 Highlands
Ranch students who received $1,000 Highlands Ranch Community Scholarship Fund
scholarships to the college of their choice. Find out more about this program on the
web site.
WeeDS AND MOWINg – Now is the time to take care of those pesky weeds and
dandelions in your yard. The sooner you get them under control the better for your
yard. Mow your yard weekly to prevent the return of unwanted weeds.
