Abstract Ufone is the second largest cellular network in Pakistan. The head o ff ice o f the ufone is

loca ted in 13-B, F-7 Markaz Is lamabad, Pak is tan. Every Organiza t iona l whether its

multinational, private business or Govt. Offices depend on its people. Telecom industry is

growing in Pakistan with new companies is getting license the competit ion is though as a

result is consumer is get t ing benefits and enjoy low ca ll ra te. With a populat ion o f

15 mil lion countr ie s Ufone is one o f the best te lecommunica t ion ne tworks that

genera te revenue. Ufone Company commenced its opera t ions under the b rand

name o f Ufone from Is lamabad on January 29 2001. Ufone P rovide two k inds o f

services tha t is Ufone Prepay and Pos t P ay. In pos t pay they provide a lot o f

packages such as Uwon, Ushare, P ub lic Demand etc . in post pa id they p rovide a

Black Berry, payment cho ice, va lue added se rvice e tc. Ufone has a lways p layed a

vita l ro le in the deve lopment o f ce llu lar market in Pak is tan. It has bee n a s tep

a head in in t r od uc ing a n inno va t ive p rod uc t in t he marke t. Ufone adop ted

the po licy o f s imp lified tar if fs with no hidden charges. Ufone ta rge ted the midd le

will change the ir techno logy the marke t is open fo r them because the ir p r ices are

low and they a re cate r ing to midd le and lower midd leclass which has quite big ratio

in Pakistan

1. Introduction

FONE is a Pakistani mobile network company. Ufone is one of the largest mobile

network services providing company of Pakistan. It consists 18% market share among

mobile operators. It has almost 24 million customers.

Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pakistan

Telecommunication Corporation Limited (PTCL) that started its operations in January 2001

under the brand name Ufone.

As a result of PTCLs privatization, Ufone became a part of the Emirates Telecommunication

Corporation Group (Etisalat) in 2006.

Ufone has network coverage in 10,000 locations and across all major highways of Pakistan.

Ufone currently caters for International Roaming to more than 260 live operators in more than

150countries.Ufone also offers Pakistanis largest GPRS &blackberry Roaming coverage

available with more than 150 Live Operators across 105 countries.

More recently, Ufone has become a focused and intensive leader in VAS, constantly introducing

innovative services, which have been the first of their kind in the Pakistani cellular industry.

As the world of telecommunications advances, Ufone promises its customers to stay ahead,

developing and evolving, to go beyond their expectations, because at Ufone, it’s all about U.

2. Problems

ROBLEMS OF HR IN UFONE COMPANY: Following are few main problems of HR of ufone:

1. Lack to follow due process policy due to which they are losing their ace employees.

2. Due to lack of proper advertisement of jobs, they are unable to grab talented employees.

3. They are not following the lead the market pay strategy due to which they are facing high

turnovers.

4. Besides many training opportunities, they are not able to fully polish their employee’s

merits.

EVIEW ON UFONE COMPANY AND ITS ISSUES

Ufone is the second largest cellular network in Pakistan. The head office of the Ufone is located

private business or Govt. Offices depend on its people. Telecom industry is growing in Pakistan

with new companies is getting license the competition is though as a result is the consumer is

getting benefits and enjoy low call rates.

With a population of 15 million countries Ufone is one of the best telecommunication

networks that generate revenue. Ufone Company commenced its operations under the brand

name of Ufone from Islamabad on January 29 2001.Ufone adopted the policy of simplified

tariffs with no hidden charges. Ufone targeted the middle class, by introducing low rates. Ufone

has network coverage in more than 5885 locations and across all major highways of the country.

Mobilink has 910,000 subscribers and Ufone has 565,000 subscribers. According to the latest

marker survey there is 70.64% annual growth in this sector.

The aim of Ufone is to provide wider coverage, superior connectivity, clear signals & voice

quality. The vision of Ufone is to be the leading telecommunication service provider in Pakistan

by offering innovate communication solutions for our customers while exceeding shareholder

value & employee expectation.

Ufone has maintained itself as the 2nd largest cellular operator in Pakistan with a subscriber base

of around 6.5 million and a market share of nearly 25%. Ufone has seen a subscriber growth rate

of over 200% in the last year, and since the start of 2005 Ufone added nearly 5 million

subscribers onto its network. Ufone is providing two kinds of services to satisfy its customer’s

needs as efficiently as possible i.e. prepay and post pay services.

The main responsibilities of Ufone HR is employment and recruiting, transfer , promotion ,

training , development , compensation , administration , health , safety , employee relations ,

benefits and services , organizational planning , organization development , human resource

planning , equal employment opportunity , personnel information systems.

There are three main problems in Ufone HR.

Lack to follow due process policy.

Due to lack of proper advertisement they are unable to grab the best employees for their

organization.

They are not following the lead the market pay strategies due to which they are facing

high turnovers.

To conclude we can say Ufone is day by day exceeding towards success. It is leading many

competitive companies and is succeeding in industry. It is successful in gaining competitive

advantage and fulfilling the needs of customers and coming up to their expectations by providing

them best network in low price.

5. Conclusion Telecom Industry is most growing industry of Pakistan still huge investment required for

coverage. The market also has strong competition after the entrance of china Mobile Company as

player .Competitors are hiring professionals to entertain the customer which is resulting

technological implementation and value added services. People are worried about call rates they

don’t prefer particular company. Consumer searches good service with lowest call rates although

companies are min imiz ing ca ll ra te s this wil l re sult more growth in the market.

Ufone b r ing amazing packages to a tt rac t the customers. Ufone p romote their product

through TV commercial, Newspaper, Radio, Internet etc. The choice of people is Ufone because

Ufone price level is low and affordable that every one can say “it’s all about U”
