CHS Scholarship Newsleer November 2017 On Thursday, November 16th, we will begin a monthly series of scholarship chats, similar to career chats, during Flex in the cafeteria. Mrs. Carroll, who han- dles our scholarship informaon and this newsleer, will speak with students about the general scholarship process and also take quesons. Talks will be announced and there will be a sign-up sheet in the Counseling Center prior to each chat session. Maryland Higher Educaon Scholarships - amount varies Deadline: varies by scholarship Requirements: Both Educaonal Assistance (EA) Grants and Guaranteed Access (GA) Grants are available. Senior with financial need. Other requirements vary depending on the specific scholarship. See their website for details: www.mhec.state.md.us. FYI for anyone aending Carroll Community College in the fall of 2018: You should also apply for financial aid and scholarships. The scholarship applicaon isnt open yet, but the FAFSA is required - so go ahead and make sure your FAFSA informaon is taken care of now. Meghan Lynn Rippeon Memorial Scholarship Deadline: April 15, 2018 Requirements: Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better throughout high school and have “college worthy” SAT scores. Gretchen Brandt Character Award - Only for athletes at Century High School Nomination Deadline: May 4, 2018 Requirements: For a college-bound athlete who played at least two team sports at Century, showed compassion and respect toward others, built a rapport with those they came in contact with, and exemplified school spirit and dedica-tion on and off the court of field.
