Next steps

Final recommendations will be presented today for mono user case (power allocation)

8 IBS sites identified without HSDPA enabled. FixedDue to high amount of IBS in the country, it is proposed to perform the functional testing together with the performance testing.Tool problem is fixed6 IBS sites identified with HS-DSCH state undefined. FixedFunctional testing almost fully completed

HSDPA Project Final status – 2007W29

HOT ISSUES / DEPENDENCIES / BLOCKING POINTS

Outcomes

• PtxMaxHSDPA set to 8W shows nearly 30-40% throughput improvement for poor coverage (<-100dBm)

• Proved limit of 4 HSDPA users in a single WSPC and > 4 HSDPA users can be accommodated with 2 WSCP

• Proved that throughput is a direct function of the number of users for the round robin scheduler regardless of RF environment

• PtxTargetHsdpa set to 7W degrades R99 NRT service accessibility (i.e. streaming rejected and FTP throughput decreased to “32kbps”)

• PtxTargetHsdpa set to 14.5W provide access for all R99 NRT services and HSDPA service

• PtxTargetHsdpa set to 7W degrades HSDPA service accessibility (no access in high load case)

• HSDPA 6W setting degrades RF conditions “Static and mobility” in term CPICH EcNo with 3.5dB in average.

• HSDPA shows limited performance during mobility due Max AS=1, HSDPAFACH transition ping-pong in Soft HO and multi server areas.

• SierraCard shows lower measurement figures compared to UE, ~1.5dB & ~5dB lower in average and 10% CDF respectively.• Tools limitation in term of stable FTP server, dedicated PCs for testing, Iub/Iu/Gn traces

• Test Bed could be used to simulate stable RF condition “CPICH RSCP/EcNo”• Nokia Single Point Of Contact not identified so far

Page 16: HSDPA Project Progress Report EXIT

HSDPA Project Final status – 2007W29

Recommendations

• Increase PtxTargetHsdpa to 41.5 dBm “14.5W”• Set PtxMaxHsdpa to 39dBm “8W” provided there is no significant

R99 traffic increase• Upgrade WSP cards at least to 2 WSPC units per site prior to

HSDPA service launch• Nokia UA5.1 features (HSDPA Soft/softer Handover for

Associated DPCH & HSDPA Serving Cell Change) are required to ensure a stable HSDPA mobility performance

• Place a Windows based dedicated FTP server next to 3G-GGSN• Standardised test equipment configuration
