1 MOUHTJNGSPACE

This Microwave Oven/Hood requires a mounting space ona wall as shown in Figure 1. It is designed to be used withstandard 12" wall cabinets.

2 WALLCONSTRUCTION

This Microwave Oven/Hood should be mounted against andsupported by a flat vertical wall. The wall must be flat forproper installation. If the wall is not flat, use spacers to fill inthe gaps. Wall construction should be a minimum of 2"x 4"wood studding and 3/8"or more thick dry wall or plaster/lath.The mounting surfaces must be capable of supporting weightof 110 pounds--the oven and contents--AND the weight ofall items which would normally be stored in the top cabinetabove the unit.

The unit should be attached to a minimum of one 2" × 4"wail stud or two 2" x 3" wail studs.

To find the location of the studs, one of the following methodsmay be used:

A. Use a stud finder, a magnetic device which locates thenails in the stud.

B. Use a hammer to tap lightly across the mounting surfaceto find a solid sound. This will indicate stud location.

The center of the stud can be located by probing the wall witha small nail to find the edges of the stud and then placing amark halfway between the edges. The center of any adjacentstuds will normally be 16" or 24" to either side of this mark.

This appliance must be grounded. This oven is equipped witha cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. It mustbe plugged into a wall receptacle that is properly installed andgrounded in accordance with the National Electrical Code andlocal codes and ordinances. In the event of an electrical short

circuit, grounding reduces risk of electric shock by providingan escape wire for the electric current.

WARNING - Improper use of the grounding plug can resultin a risk of electric shock.

ELECTRICALREQUiREIVIEHTS

The oven is equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug. DONOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CUT OR REMOVETHE GROUNDING PIN FROM THE PLUG.

DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD.

The Power Supply Cord and plug must be connected toa separate 120 Volt AC, 60 Hz, 15 Amp, or more branchcircuit, single grounded receptacle. The receptacle shouldbe located inside the cabinet directly above the MicrowaveOven mounting location as shown in Figure 2.

HOTE:

1. If you have any questions about the grounding orelectrical instructions, consult a qualified electrician orserviceperson.

2. Neither Electrolux nor the dealer can accept any liability fordamage to the oven or personal injury resulting from failureto observe the correct electrical connection procedures.

When the hood is vented to the outside, a hood exhaust duct

is required. All ductwork must be metal; absolutely do not useplastic duct. Check that all connections are made securely.Please read the following carefully:

EXHAUSTCONNECTION:The hood exhaust has been designedto connect to a standard 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular duct. Ifround duct is required, a rectangular-to-round adapter mustbe used.

REAR EXHAUST: If a rear or horizontal exhaust is to be used,care should be taken to align the exhaust with the spacebetween the studs, or wall should be prepared at the time itis constructed by leaving enough space between wall studsto accommodate exhaust.

MAXIMUM DUCT LENGTH:For satisfactory air movement, thetotal duct length of 3 1/4"x 10" rectangular or 6" diameter roundduct should not exceed 140 feet.

Elbows, adapters, wall caps, roof caps, etc. present additionalresistance to air flow and are equivalent to a section of straightduct which is longer than their actual physical size. Whencalculating the total length, add the equivalent lengths of alltransitions and adapters plus the length of all straight ductsections. Figure 3 shows the approximate feet of equivalentlength of some typical ductwork parts. Use the values inparentheses for calculating air flow resistance equivalent,which should total less than 140 feet.

Open the bottom of the carton, bend the carton flapsback and tilt the oven over to rest on plastic foam pad.Lift carton off oven and remove all packing materials,Installation Instructions, Wall Template, Top Template,Charcoal Filter, Turntable andTurntable Support; however,DO NOT REMOVE THE WAVEGUIDE COVER, which

BECIBCULATING: NON-VENTED,DUCTLESSOPERATION

The unit is shipped assembled for recirculating.

The Exhaust Damper Assembly is not required forrecirculating exhaust.

Charcoal Filter, which was installed in your microwaveoven, is used for nonvented, recirculated installation. TheCharcoal Filter should be replaced every 6 to 12 months,depending on use. Remove three Hood Louver screws.Tilt the Hood louver downward then pull it out so bottomtabs become unlocked. Pull the Charcoal Filter upwardto remove from your oven. Attach the Charcoal Filter tothe upper side of the oven by sliding into the tabs. SeeFigure 6-1,6-2.

1. Remove and save 2 screws from back edge and 1 screwfrom the top center of Fan Cover Bracket. Remove FanCover Bracket by sliding it in the opposite direction of thearrow on the Fan Cover Bracket, as shown in Figure 7.

2. Withdraw Hood Fan Unit carefully and slip wires out ofWire Box. See Figure 8.

CAUTION:Do not pull orstretch hoodfanwiring.

3. Rotate the Hood Fan Unit and turn end-over-end so thatthe fan blade openings are facing the back of the oven.Replace Hood Fan Unit into the oven. Be careful not topinch the lead wire between the inner bracket and theHood Fan Unit. See Figure 9.

4. Put the lead wire into Wire Box. See Figure 10.

5. Replace the Fan Cover Bracket by sliding it into the slitsin the same direction as the arrow on the Fan CoverBracket. Make sure the fan blades are visible through therear openings in the oven before proceeding. Attach FanCover Bracket to unit with 3 screws, which were removedin Step 1 above. See Figure 11. The Hood Fan Unit isnow rotated for horizontal exhaust operation.

6. Attach the Exhaust Damper Assembly to the back of theunit. See Figure 10. Use two Tapping Screws 4 x 8 mm fromthe INSTALLATION HARDWARE and tighten into place.

Remove and save 2 screws from back edge and 1 screwfrom the top center of the Fan Cover Bracket. RemoveFan Cover Bracket by sliding it in the opposite directionof the arrow on the Fan Cover Bracket as shown in Figure7.

3. Turn the Hood Fan Unit end-over-end. Rotate the Hood

Fan Unit 90 ° so that the fan blade openings are facingupward. Replace Hood Fan Unit into the oven. Be carefulnot to pinch the lead wire between the inner bracket andthe Hood Fan Unit. See Figure 11.

4. Put the lead wire into Wire Box. See Figure 11.

5. Replace the Fan Cover Bracket by sliding it into the slitsin the same direction as the arrow on the Fan Cover

Bracket. Make sure the fan blades are visible throughthe top openings in the oven before proceeding. Attachthe Fan Cover Bracket to unit with 3 screws, which wereremoved in Step 1 above. See Figure lO.The Hood FanUnit is now rotated for vertical exhaust operation.

6. Attach the Exhaust Damper Assembly to the fan coverbracket on the top of the outercase cabinet after mountingthe oven. To attach the Exhaust Damper Assembly, referto MOUNTING OVEN TO THE WALL, page 6 Figure 17.

3. Position the Mounting Plate with the Toggle Boltsattached at the wall location and insert Toggle Nutsand Bolts through the holes in the wall with the ToggleNuts closed. Figure 15. Use Wood Screws to attach theMounting Plate to studs.

NOTE: Before insertion, be sure you leave a space morethan the thickness of the wall between the Mounting Plateand the end of each of the Toggle Nuts (in the closedposition). If you do not leave enough space, the ToggleNut will not be able to open on the other side of the wall.Also, once a Toggle Nut opens, it cannot be withdrawnfrom the hole; therefore make sure all of the Toggles arein the correct position before insertion.

4. Align the Mounting Plate carefully and hold in positionwhile tightening Toggle Bolts. Pull Toggle Bolt toward youand turn clockwise to tighten. Figure 14.

Two people are recommended to attach the Microwave Oven/Hood to the Mounting Plate.

1. Thread the power supply cord through the hole made inthe bottom of the top cabinet.

2. Install the oven by tilting it forward and sliding it onto thetabs of the Mounting Plate. Rotate the oven up so it restsagainst the wall. See Figure 15.

3. Use the two Top Cabinet Screws and two Flat Washers,supplied in the INSTALLATION HARDWARE, to attachthe unit to the top cabinet. See Figure 16.

4. Secure the bottom of the oven to the Mounting Plateby using two Tapping Screws 4 x 8 mm from theINSTALLATION HARDWARE. See Figure 16.

Este Horno Microondas / Campana Extractora debe montarsey soportarse en una pared vertical plana. La pared debe serplana para instalaci6n apropiada. Si la pared no es plana,utilice espaciadores para Ilenar los vacios. La construcci6n dela pared debe estar compuesta por columnas de madera de 2"x 4" minimo y muro en seco (dry wall) o revoque con espesorde 3/8" o mas. Cuando la campana extractora tiene escape hacia elexterior, se requiere un ducto de escape de campana. Todoel ducto debe ser metalico, categ6ricamente no utilice ductoplastico. Verifique que todas las conexiones estan sujetadasfirmemente. Por favor lea cuidadosamente Io siguiente:

CONEXION DE ESCAPE: El escape de la campana ha sido

dise5ado para conectarse con un ducto rectangular estandarde 3 W'x 10". Si se requiere ducto redondo, debe utilizarseun adaptador de rectangular a redondo.

ESCAPETRASERO: Si debe utilizarse un escape trasero oescape horizontal, debe tenerse cuidado de alinear el escapecon el espacio entre las columnas, o la pared debe prepararseen el momento de construirse dejando suficiente espacioentre las columnas de pared para acomodar el escape.

LONGJTUD MAXIMA DEL DUCTO: Para movimiento satisfactorio

del aire, la Iongitud total del ducto rectangular de 3 W'x 10"5del ducto redondo con di_.metro de 6" no debe exceder 140

(B) ESCAPE HORIZONTAL: EXTRACCION HACIAEL EXTERIOR

1. Remueva y guarde los 2 tornillos del horde trasero y 1 tornillo dela parte central superior de la Cubierta del Ventilador. Remueva

la Cubierta del Ventilador deslizb, ndola en direcciCn opuestaa la fecha indicada sobre la Cubierta de Ventilador, segun semuestra en la Figura 7.

2. Extraiga cuidadosamente la Unidad de Ventilador de la CampanaExtractoray deslice los cables hacia fuera. Vease la Figura 8.PRECAUCiON:No halar ni forzar los cablesdel ventiladorde carnpanaextractora.

3. Rote la Unidad de Ventiiador de Campana Extractora y gire demodo que las aberturas de aspas del ventilador queden dirigidashacia la parte trasera del homo. Coloque nuevamente la Unidad deVentilador de Campana Extractora dentro del homo. Tenga cuidadode no pellizcar el cable conductor entre el soporte interior y la Unidadde Ventilador de Campana extractora. Wase la Figura 9.

4. Coloque el cable conductor dentro de la Caja de Alambres.Vease la Figura 10.

5. ColoquenuevamentelaCubiertadelVentiladordeslizAndoladentrode las ranuras en la misma direcciCn de la flecha indicada sobrela Cubierta del Ventilador. Asegt_rese que las aspas del ventiladorson visibles a traves de las aberturas traseras del homo antes deproceder. Sujete la Cubierta del Ventilador a la unidad mediante los3 tornillos que se retiraron en el Paso 1 anterior. Vease la Figura11. La Unidad de Ventilador de la Campana Extractora ahora estagirada para operaciCn de escape horizontal.

6. Sujete el ReguJador de SucciCn de ExtracciCn a Japarte trasera dela Placa de Montaje deslizb,ndolo dentro de las ranuras. Wase laFigura 10. Utilice dos Tornillo Auto-perforante de 4 x 8 mm de losHERRAJES DE INSTALAClON y apfiete para colocar en su sitio.

7 PREPARATIOHDU FOUR

1. Ouvrez le fond du carton, basculez les rabats en arri@eet basculez le four pour reposer sur la cale en mousseplastique. Enlevez le carton du four et sortez tous lesmat6riaux d'emballage, les instructions d'installation, legabarit mural, le gabarit de plafond, le filtre a charbon, leplateau tournant et son support. Cependant N'ENLEVEZPAS LE CACHE DU GUIDE D'ONDES qui est situ6 sur lehaut de la cavit6 du four. CONSERVEZ LE CARTON QUIPEUT VOUS FACILITER !/INSTALLATION.

2. VERIFIEZ LE FOUR. Cherchez des dommages 6ventuelssur le four, comme un mauvais salignement ou une torsionde la porte, des dommages au niveau des joints ou dessurfaces d'6tanch6it6, des cassures ou desserrages decharni@es ou de verrouillage, des entailles dans la cavit6ou sur la porte. Enlevez et conservez 2 vis du bord inferieur et 1 vis du milieu du

haut de la ferrure couvercle de ventilateur. Enlevez cette pieceen la glissant dans la direction opposee & la fleche marqueedessus, comme illustre sur le Schema 7.

2. Enlevez avec precautions I'unite de ventilateur de hotte etdegagez les ills de la boite de raccordement (volt le Schema 8).ATTENTION:Ne tirez passur los ills de c_blageet ne los_tirez pas.

3. Retournez le ventilateur de hotte de maniere & ce que losouvertures de pale de ventilateur soient dirigees vers I'arrieredu four. Remettez le venfilateur de hotte dans le four. FaResattention de ne pas pincer le fil de connexion entre le supportinterne et le ventilateur de hotte. Voir le Schema 9.

4. Placez le fil de connexion dans le coffret de ills. Voir leSchema 10.

5. Remettez en place la ferrure couvercle de ventilateur en laglissant dans los fentes dans la m6me direction que la flechemarquee dessus. Assurez -vous que los pales de ventilateursont visibles au travers des ouvertures & I'arriere avant depoursuivre. Fixez la ferrure sur I'appareil avec los 3 vis enlevees& I'etape 1 prec6dente (voir le Schema 11 ). I 'unite de ventila teurde hotte est maintenant positionnee pour un fonctionnement enevacuation & I'hofizontale.

6. Attachez rassemblage du registre d'echappement sur le dos deI'unit& Consultez la Figure 10. Utilisez deux vis autotaradeuses4 x 8 mm dans los PIECES D'INSTALLATION et serrez bienen

90 degres de maniere & ce que les ouvertures de palede ventilateur soient dirigees vers le haut. Remettez leventilateur de hotte dans le four. Faites attention de ne

pas pincer le fil de connexion entre le support interne etle ventilateur de hotte. Voir Sch6ma 11.

I'arriere avant de poursuivre. Fixez la ferrure sur I'appareilavec les 3 vis enlev6es & I'etape 1 pr6c6dente (voir leSch6ma 10). L:unit6 de ventilateur de hotte est maintenantpositionn6e pour un fonctionnement en evacuation & laverticale.

Fixez I'ensemble registre d'evacuation au couvercle deventilateur sur le dessus du coffret de carter avant de

bouion o_J il y a lieu en A, B, Cou D (correspondantaux trous du gabarit mural) et montez =y leursaiiettes articui6es (voirle Sch6ma 13).

Reportez =vous auxinstructions pourgabarit mural.

3. Placez la plaque defixation avec les boulons & ailettes sur lemur et ins6rezles boulons & ailettes avec leurs 6crous dans les trous

dans lemur, les ailettes referm6es. Sch6ma 15. Employezles vis & bois pour fixer la plaque de fixation aux poteauxmuraux.

REIVlARQUE: Avant d'ins6rer les boulons, veillez & laisserun espace sup6neur & 1'6paisseur du mur entre la plaquede fixation et I'extr6mit6 des 6crous & ailettes (en positionferm6e). Si vous ne laissez pas assez d'espace, 1'6crou& ailettes ne pourra pas s'ouvrir de I'autre c6t6 du mur.En outre, une fois que les ailettes sont ouvertes, on nepeut plus enlever le boulon du mur, il faut donc veiller &ce que boulons & ailettes soient dans la bonne positionavant de les ins6rer.

4. Alignez soigneusement la plaque de fixation et tenez-laen place pendant que vous serrez les boulons & ailettes.Tirez les boulons a ailettes vers vous et vissez dans le

sens des aiguilles d'une montre. Le sch6ma 14.

MONTAGE MURAL DU FOUR

II recommand6 d'utiliser deux personnes pour placer le fourmicro -ondes et sa hotte sur la plaque de fixation.

1. Passez le cordon secteur par le trou fait dans le fond ducofret sup_rieur.

Installez le four en le faisant pencher vers d'avant et leglissant sur les ailes de la plaque de fixation. Poussezle four vers le haut et vers I' arri_re de sorte qu'il calecontre lemur. Consultez la Figure 15.

Utilisez les deux vis de coffret sup6rieur et deux rondellesplates fournies dans la PIECES D'INSTALLATION pourfixer I'unit6 sur le coffret sup_rieur (voir le Sch6ma 16).

Fixez le fond du four sur la plaque de fixation en vousservant de deux vis autotaradeuses 4 x 8 mm dans lesPIECES D'INSTALLATION. Consultez la Figure 16.
